Two-Way-Sync between SharePoint and Excel

Hi,

I am trying to see if there is a way to do a two way sync between excel and a SharePoint list.  What I am trying to achieve is, if I updat my excel table it updates the SharePoint list and vice a versa.  Everything I researched is either outdated or a third party app is required.  Is this possible?  Any help is appreciated.

Hi @RKPA 

You can do it for a SharePoint item that whenever an item is updated, update a row in excel and whenever an item is created, create a row in excel. 

Unfortunately, the triggers for when a row is created or when a row is created/ modified are currently not available for the excel connector. You might have to create a recurrence based trigger that gets all the rows from excel for a particular timestamp and updates the same in excel (but this will not be real time)

I have a working flow which sync my sharepoint list to an excel file. It's pretty straightforward as you can see in my flow below:

About a month ago I started to have error notification that the flow is throttling thus the update did not proceed for some of the items. Fyi, my sharepoint list is updated by several of my team member every day and the item has grown to over 1000 lines. 

I tried turning on the concurrency control but somehow still having the same error. 

Any idea on how to solve this? Many thanks.

I have a similar dilemma; my list is almost 5000 items and if 1 item gets updated the flow runs for almost 12hrs just to reflect. A great work around is creating a frequent scheduled flow running with a concurrency rule. I got my flows to have a run time of 5 to 20 minutes with this.

If you download SynchronizeWSSandExcel and include the add-in in your excel file you will have a new button under "Table Design" called "Publish and Allow Synch".  Once the table is published to SharePoint (as a list) you can right click the table in excel and select "Synchronize with SharePoint".  Synchronization is bi-directional.  One caveat, the add-in requires that you save the file as Excel 97-2003.  If you can live with that, it works with all current versions of Excel and SharePoint.

Looks like it works with the latest version of excel now.
