remove FW: from mail Message ID

Hi all,

When I receive a mail with "FW:" in the message ID / Subject, I am able to move it to another mail folder, but I want to remove this "FW:", or replace it by "FORW".

I tried with this option: replace(triggerBody()['subject'],'RE: ','').

However it gives json error.

Maybe my approach is fully wrong, please advise!

Hi @dongenr 

 

You have to change the subject line using api call and then move it, it work then 

 

see below

in the api request body, new subject is passed as expression , replacing Fw with FORW 

replace(triggerOutputs()?['body/subject'],'Fw:','FORW:')
 
Now in move email action, id was extracted from body of http request action like below

Here i am moving the email to NN folder (for demo purposes)

Hi @dongenr,

messageID  and Subject are different things.

To modify Subject you have to use a GRAPH request.

Json format you have used is wrong , you have placed a semicolon

instead of value, we are using replace expression in our flow design 🙂

I think it is limitation of graph api in your case .

Try including mailbox address as parameter as well in request body like below

"Mailbox address":"address_value",

"subject":"value"

}

 

 

replace the address_value with your mailbox address on which u are working and try the flow again

Hi @Nived_Nambiar,

this "Mailbox address" parameter  means they added an additional field to some Power Automate actions.

It's not linked with a GRAPH  request body at all.

Since you said that mailbox address is a parameter in some power automate, why it should specify here in case of sending http request ?

honestly speaking, I do not know what to explain here. If you wish to work with a shared mailbox, you cannot use /me in the GRAPH request URL. That's all.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
