How Patch file blob and last submitted form into dataverse?

Hello everyone,

Hope all is well,

What I have:

- 1 dataverse table called "Table1"

- 1 Form and its controls are connected to a dataverse table called "Table 2" where I have a custom attachment control in it connected to "Table 1"

What I want:

I would like on submission of the form, to save the data entered by the user in the controls related to "Table2" (which is done automatically because it's the main data source) and the custom control should patch the blob of the custom attachment control with the ID of the last submitted form to the "Table1".

So how can I get the blob, the last submitted form ID, and then patch them to the "Table 1".

Any help would be highly appreciated.

I am a little bit unclear here so on Table 2 you have a Column of Type File or Image? and you are trying to upload the image to it?

Can you share screenshots of your apps and table structure?

For a better understanding, I'll include a clearer explanation below:

I have the form below in a canvas app that is connected to a database table called "Leave Request" where the submitted form data is saved.

I added a custom attachment control inside a custom card so I can save the upload file value in another table called "HREXAttatchements".Thus, in other words, the custom attachment control should save the uploaded data to it in another table, different than the one connected to the form :

The table that the custom attachment control should save its data in it is called "HREXAttchement":

So, how i can achieve that?

@Mira_Ghaly , Thanks for your reply but the attached post above is a scenario where he's trying to submit all the data entered in the form including the attachment content to the same table.

In my scenario, I have 2 different tables, 1 for the controls of the form and the other table is dedicated to the attachment control.

I tried the method above but it's showing an error whenever I'm trying to patch the value of the file.

Is there any solution for this error?

What you have (or need if you do not have) is a 1:n(one to many), a n:1 (many to one) or a n:n (many to many) relationship between table 1 and 2.  
table 2 is the primary side in your example.   The type of relationship is determined by how your attachments need to surface. 
if you are seeking to have 1 attachment row in table 1 to 1 to row of data in table 2, you do not need a relationship and you should put the file field on table 2. 
if you need to have many attachments in table 1 relate to a single row in table 2,  you are looking at a n:1 relationship.  To do that you define a lookup on table 1 that points at table 2,  then in your pcf control, create a row in table 1 populating the table 2 lookup with the row Id your on in table 2, then upload the file to that row. 
if you allowing the same file to be shared by multiple rows, you use a n:n relationship and create each row independently, the. Associate the 2 via the n:n relationship. 

it really depends on what your trying to do.

keep in mind that if your tying to track things like activities you can use the out of the box activity system’s notes entity to do it without setting up all relationships.
