Hi @Sowjanya_G13

The first thing to visualize is your data model, if possible replicate it in Dataverse, from there you can use ETL SSIS to perform data migration and transformation processes. In this sense, it is always necessary to make an analysis of the architecture model of the new solution and how it is compatible with the previous one.

Many times it is thought that you can migrate from a solution XXX of a manufacturer to another one of Power Apps, the reality is that what you do is a new design with improvements of functionalities but maybe you also lose other functionalities.

As for the data, it is more or less the same, maybe the previous solution is not standardized and now you want to standardize. Now you will have to use ETL to bring your data from the DB to Dataverse but you will probably also have to transform the data.

Dataverse has a set of field types that are quite unique.

Hi @Sowjanya_G13,

What type of data source do you have?

The quickest way is by leveraging Dataflows. It will automatically create the tables/entities and import all data in one step. It also supports transformation with Power Query and supports numerous types of data sources. More info: https://learn.microsoft.com/power-query/dataflows/create-use

If you have Access database then suggest having a look at the out-of-the-box migration tool which would be the quickest and easiest: https://learn.microsoft.com/power-apps/maker/data-platform/migrate-access-to-dataverse?WT.mc_id=DX-M...

Hope this helps!

Hi @EricRegnier

The data source is from multiple sources SQL DB,SSIS,Snowflake etc.

To connect with SQL DB the client is using QuNect. SQL DB is readonly as they are performing all operations in Quick base.

Appreciate your help in Advance

You can easily connect with SQL DB using Dataflows as suggested. Have a play with it, it should satisfy your need 🙂

Hi @Sowjanya_G13

I recommend that before making a decision on the tool, be it Dataflow, SSIS or any other tool, you should first take a look at the data model. The dataflow to solve the Lookup has a particular characteristic.

Once you have the data model the tool is the next step.

The challenge is the current tool used to fetch data from SQL Data warehouse to Quick base is QuNEct.

All the Schema, virtual tables, transactions ,Data model is being handled in Quick base.

How to handle those data transactions from Quick base to powerapps model driven apps? for all those 300 Quick base apps.

Appreciate your help in advance 🙂

HI All

Can anyone guide how can we export data to SQL from Quickbase apps?.

Migrating Quickbase standalone app data to SQL?

Also migrate SQL onpremise data to Dataverse tables to create Modern driven app.

Appreciate your help in advance

Hi @Sowjanya_G13,

There are different ways and no right/wrong and depends on your scenario, volume of data, IT controls/firewalls, etc. My response is the simplest using out-of-the-box Power Platform tools. For your specific questions:

  1. Can anyone guide how can we export data to SQL from Quickbase apps? --> To export data from QuickBase to SQL or Dataverse you can use Power Automate, there's a QuickBase connector. More info: https://learn.microsoft.com/connectors/quickbaseip/?WT.mc_id=DX-MVP-5004271

    EricRegnier_0-1707996623504.png

  2. Migrating Quickbase standalone app data to SQL? --> Not sure, might be worth asking in a QuickBase related forum instead.
  3. Migrate SQL onpremise data to Dataverse tables to create Modern driven app --> You can leverage Dataflows as previously suggested and/or also Power Automate, there's an OOB connector: https://learn.microsoft.com/connectors/sql/?WT.mc_id=DX-MVP-5004271

If this QuickBase system/apps ae mission critical, complex and data migration is expected to be complex with large volume of data, I would also recommend to get a partner involved to best support you with the needs..

Hope this helps...
