Update Record In CDS.

Hi all,

I have data in CDS coming from CDS Portal. Using when record is created action, I have created an event using that information.

Steps:

- On power automate flow, when a record is created.

- Created an event.

- Update same record in CDS. (tried Id as an unique identifier still facing an error)

Now, after creating an event I want to update same record in CDS. Unfortunately I am not able to find any unique identifier. facing this error:

Can someone please tell me how can I find my unique identifier in update record action?

  Note: I have tried unique id of my record.

The Record identifier field requires the unique identifier type field value form output of the trigger, like this:

Hi  v-siky-msft,

I have mentioned steps above. After record being created in CDS from power apps portal:

On portal level i have status field (i.e pending ) which needs to be confirm after record being updated from power automate. 

On power automate :

- When record is created

- Using that information which includes (Id (unique), Name, Age , Location, Email, DateTime ), created an event in my calendar.

- Next, Update record with same information.

Problem is update record action is not accepting any field as an unique identifier. I have tried patient id which is unique and also tried this unique identifier instance still didn't work

Are there more than one unique identifier field in entity?

Please make sure to select the default unique identifier field from the output of trigger, that name is one 's' letter less than Entity Name.

Hi,

 I have tried my unique identifier in Get record action for the same entity and it worked. unfortunately trying the same unique identifier for updating record won't work.

is there any other way to do it as i am stuck on this?

Hey @Anonymous, you can’t unfortunately just put the unique identifier in the update action. You’ll need to wrap with:

<plural entity name>(<unique identifier>)

E.g. contacts(03250e19-9639-464c-9730-dafbac6a2015)

To supplement on my previous post, on the update record step if it's the "Item ID" you don't need physical plural name and the parenthesis but if it's a lookup field you do. As per image below, make sure you are using the right connector. Instead of "Common Data Service" use "Common Data Service (current connector)", but you must create your flow from a solution though and it should work. Let me know how that goes... Cheers!
