Feedback on Power Platform admin center experience

Hi Everyone,

As part of our effort to consolidate admin operations in single portal, over the last semester we have added multiple admin functionalities on Power Platform admin center (https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/). In the Power Platform admin center surveys recently some of the admins have reported that sometimes it is difficult to discover features on Power Platform admin center or it is difficult to use. So the product team is hoping to learn more specific details about this.

Please provide your feedback and if you would like to be contacted by the product team please let us know.

Thank you.

Hi @saumil23,

Good feedback, you can submit that feedback/idea to https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Apps-Ideas/idb-p/PowerAppsIdeas

Cheers

I am part of the product team so i am looking for feedback/idea from the community. Please make a suggestion if you want me to post the same question in different path as well. Thanks

missing features need to be implemented:

  1. Power Platform Admin and Environment System Administrator are unable to manage Apps like (Share), Unless he/she assigned by the App Owner as Co-Owner (Can Edit). Using the legacy Admin Center "https://admin.powerapps.com/environments" Admins can manage Apps easily.
  2. Admins must be able to see all Resources beside (Apps, Flows) including the Solutions, Connectors...etc
  3. Managing the Gateway is per environment, it should be per application also.
  4. DLP Connectors, add an advance Filter like (Publisher, Can Be Blocked...etc), it will make easy to select and move it to between (Business, Non-Business, Blocked)

Admin Center Portal must be empowered with a lot of Views, to make it easy to support different team in different environments

Hello @saumil23,

Thanks for posting this. I'm happy to speak if you want to contact me.

I think the Power Platform Admin Centre is excellent, much better than what we've had before. There are definitely some things that need a little tweaking. Off the top of my head:

  1. When on the "Resources" section of an environment, when you click Flows, the search only works on what's on the page, such as 100 Flows. If you've got 1000s, like we have, the search functionality is useless. I have to click the "Load More" button a million times to see all the Flows. This gets old quickly.
  2. Again on the "Resources" section when you click "Power Apps" it would be nice to be able to filter on the columns, like a view in Dynamics.
  3. Same place as above, the "Type" field in the old Power Apps Admin Centre used to show if it was a SharePoint Form or not, in the Power Platform Admin Centre it just shows "Canvas apps" and I have to click into each individual app to see if it's a standard app or a SharePoint Form.
  4. DLP Policy - This is hard to explain when writing. But when we were creating our policy, we were searching for a connector, say Salesforce, selecting it, then searching for another connector, say ServiceNow, selecting it and expecting both connectors to be selected, but we lost the Salesforce selection once we searched again. We did this for all our connectors we wanted to block, only to find that only the last one is selected. I'd like it to keep every connector selected even when we are searching. The Data Export Profile in Dynamics 365 does this functionality perfectly.
  5. Environments - Be able to filter the list, such as only see Sandbox environments, plus being able to sort and pin a column, so every time when I click environments it doesn't just show being sorted by "Created on" I could sort by environment name, pin it, and it will always stay as sorted by environment name.

Hope my Christmas list helps.

Thanks,

Garry

Hi @GarryPope,

Thank you very much. Your Christmas list is certainly very helpful - as we have been trying to get some actionable feedback and this is by far the most detailed one. So really appreciate you taking out time and sharing it. We will work with teams who owns different scenarios listed in #1-5 and get them added to their backlog. I will update the thread post that. In case there are follow-up questions, would you be open to going on a call sometime?

Thank you again.

Thanks for sharing your feedback @AbdullahSaid. I will pass on the feedback to the team and will update the thread based on their comments.

Hello @saumil23,

Sure, no problem at all. Happy to help. I spoke with a team last year about the copy functionality, so just contact me when you need me. I'll send you my contact details. I've thought of some other things:

  1. Export to Excel - Ability to export things like environments, power apps, flows. Export buttons are like plug sockets, you can never have enough of them.
  2. Deleting an environment - When we delete an environment it's great that we now have to type the actual name of the environment and that the pop-up window shows the guid to be able to recover the environment within 7 days using PowerShell, but if we don't copy the guid then we don't have it. Of course we should copy the GUID, but we might forget. It would be good to get an email after we delete it with this information. It would potentially save a ticket into Microsoft.

Thanks very much,

Garry
