How to only redeploy a power apps inside a solution from Test to PROD without the need to reconfigure all the environment variables again

I have 2 environments;

1) Test

2) PROd

and i have a solution which contains the following:-

1) 1 Power Apps

2) 55 workflows

3) 90 environment variables

when i did the first move from Test to PROD >> i were asked to reconfigure all the environment variables which sound valid, now i modified the power apps inside my Test envelopment, by changing some formats and coloring.. then i export the solution from Dev but when i tired to import the solution inside my PROD environment, i were asked to reconfigure all the environment variables again.. so how i can force the import to use the existing environment variables inside PROD?

Environment variables without a default value or value will be prompted for a value, but those otherwise are prefilled with a label beneath the text area denoting the value's source: solution value, target environment value, or default value.

If you are using ADO CI/CD pipeline where you can have your deployment setting files.

@Velegandla in my case when i did the second export/import from test to PROD >> i were not asked to define the environment variables, but the environment variables on PROD got the values of the test environment variables, so i had to modify 90 environment variables.. all the environment variables on Test and PROD have values and do not have a default value.. any way to  avoid this scenario? and to have the import process on PROD to just use the environment variables already defined ??? please advice ?

you need to remove the current values from DEV environment before deploying.

@Velegandla but if i do so i will be asked to add the values on PROD.. which will be the same case.. i want to reuse the environment variables on PROD when i do the import process... did you get what i am asking for exactly ?

How are you deploying the solution?

DEV to TEST and then PROD?

Or TEST to PROD once then DEV to Prod directly?

I Test with two environments. 

DEV and TEST. 

I didn't have default and current values in DEV environment. 

When i try to deploy it prompts the values. 

subsequent times, it will populate the values from the TEST environment.

You donot have to change every time. 

Edit:

Replace DEV with TEST and TEST with PROD in your case.

@Velegandla i only have 2 environments, Test and PROD.. and i am exporting from Test and Import into PROD

@Velegandla so when you import to PROD it will use the values of the environment variables from Test.. this will not work for me,,, as i have 2 SharePoint sites one for Test and the other for PROD... i think you are not getting what i am talking about... i want when i do the import on PROD to use the existing environment variables already defined inside PROD,, instead of using  the ones inside the Test, so i have to manually modify the environment variables on PROD to reference the PROD SharePoint site on each import operation

If you donot have values in default or current then how does it uses values from TEST to PROD?

I will create a video and share it here over the weekend. 

For now, create an new TEST solution with 1 or two variables with empty (default/current) values. 

Then deploy it to PROD using pipelines. Make sure you populate the values before deployment to PROD. This would set the current value of those env variables in PROD.

Then in subsequent deployments it would pickup the values from PROD.
