Get Today's data from MySQL database on Power Apps Portal

Hi Experts,

I have a requirement where I need to display the data from MySQL database on the Power Apps Portal. The data in MySQL database table is updated with fresh data everyday by truncating the table. But when I get the data to Power Apps entity from the MySQL database and display it using entity view on the Portal, the fresh data gets appended along with previous data. I need only the current day's data to be displayed on the Portal by truncating the previous day's data.

Could anyone please suggest on how to achieve this?

Do you want to filter the data of the day based on a certain date field and display it in Portal?

my suggestion is:

• Create a view
• Set filter criteria(Refer to the GIF below)
• Then use the view in the portal

In this case, I filter the records whose modification date is today.

Thanks for the reply. I tried using the filter on the view. Actually I need to filter for a field called 'Insertdate' which is present on the database table. But this field is not shown up on the filter by lookup on the entity view. I need to filter the table using the 'Insertdate' column. Could you please suggest on this..

Hi @Anonymous :

I am not sure why the field cannot be displayed. You can also use the "Modified On" or "Created On" fields, because these two fields store the update time and creation time of the record.

Thank you again. If I try using 'Created On' or 'Modified On' field it shows up even yesterdays data for 'Insertdate' field. I need to have a filter for Insertdate field to show only today's data.. Any suggestion on this please?

Could you tell me :

• Does your entity have the Insertdate field?
• What is its data type?

I tried to insert a Date and Time type field "Insertdate" into my custom entity, and finally I could find it in the filter.

I have pulled the data to the entity from MySQL table. In the Entity view I can find the InsertDate field which has Date and time data type. I can find all other fields present on the entity on the filter by page except for InsertDate using which I need to filter. Below is the screensnips,

                         

I have added table from database today. So its showing up only today's date on the entity view. I have tried adding filter for the table with yesterday's date. But I am not able to filter by InsertDate field..

Because I can't reproduce the same problem,I suggest you create a new entity and see if the problem still exists.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Make sure that your field is marked as searchable. If it is not marked it will not appear in the filters. Open your field in the maker portal and check Searchable checkbox (see attached screenshot).
