Not able to hide Power BI report filter on Power App Portal.

Background: We are trying to embed a Power BI report into a Powerapp/D365 portal. We are using liquid to embed the report and send the filter criteria to PowerBI. We have successfully integrated the report with portal and we are passing the name of the individual logged in into the liquid code which filters out the report with his name.
 
Problem: By default the filter pane on the embedded report is available to deselect. An individual can remove the filter and view everyone else’s data. In this implementation, we have over 1000 users that should have access to their unique rows. It is not feasible to implement Row Level security for that many individuals.

Is there a way to hide/disable the PowerBI filter in an embedded report? We tried hiding the filter using visibility settings before publishing the report to the service. This had no effect on the embedded report.

Maybe you could try this:

Lock or hide filters

You can lock or hide individual filter cards. If you lock a filter, your report consumers can see but not change it. If you hide it, they can't even see it. Hiding filter cards is typically useful if you need to hide data cleanup filters that exclude nulls or unexpected values.

• In the Filters pane, select or clear the Lock filter or Hide filter icons in a filter card.

• 

As you turn these settings on and off in the Filters pane, you see the changes reflected in the report. Hidden filters don't show up in the pop-up filter list for a visual.

You can also configure the Filters pane state to flow with your report bookmarks. The pane's open, close, and visibility state are all bookmarkable.

In addition, this should also be achieved by demoting the user’s security role.(Edit the permissions of the specified security role instead of modifying the permissions of each user one by one)

Hi,

I actually tried this thing before but microsoft says this wont work as this is a bug and is to be addressed in the coming release.

Even if you click on the eye to hide filter it keeps on showing the filter.

Anyways what we have done is using js and CSS we covered the page with a transparent box so that nobody is able to click on the page.
