Browser extension doesn't work after Win11 lates Update on 18th Dec

HI

last 17th December i Update my Laptop Windows update. Since from there browser extension is not working for any browser(chrome,edge).I did reinstall, clear cached & almost everything. Did anyone knows how to sort out this?

What version is your extension?  I seem to remember having to install an updated extension a couple days ago.

I've posted about the same problem, after Win11 update it broke, updated to latest PAD and extension but still won't continue the flow after opening Edge.

 

In another forum post, Anders Jensen provided a work-around which worked for me.

This work-around worked for me until a final resolution is presented

Try to roll back your windows to last previous update which was working power automate properly.

To make the extension work do the following: 

Configure Microsoft Edge

To ensure that Microsoft Edge works as expected with Power Automate, disable running background apps when Microsoft Edge is closed.

To disable this option, go to Settings > System and disable Continue running background apps when Microsoft Edge is closed.

 

Make sure that developer mode is on by the extension. 

I had previously disabled the background apps and had enabled dev mode and was still having the failure.

 

After reading your post this morning, I verified those two settings and tested my flow - it's now working!

For me, rolling back is just a temporary and possibly painful fix.   See the other reply in this post by Beumas that mentioned fixes for Edge - turning on developer mode and disabling background processes

Didn't worked for me, Also while trying to create new flow it is asking to install extension again and again however it is already installed to latest version.

This solved the issue for me with latest win11, 2.27 and latest extension. Remove windows store version of PAD, install with MSI installer after.

Don't waste your time on any troubleshooting tip if you are on Windows 11: Power Automate Desktop will NOT interact with ANY browser anymore. 

Get your hands on a Windows 10 machine or install a Windows 10 VM, that's the only way to get it up and running again

Well installing 2.26 on win11 with legacy extension works fine.

After updates, again my PAD web automation failed on Win11.

I discovered I had both Power Automate and Power Automate Desktop installed.

I removed both apps, removed the Edge extension, reinstalled PAD from MSI installer.

I tested and the web automation failed - I used the workaround (opened the first webpage,

disabled and enabled the extension) then PAD web automation worked.  Rebooted and everything's

working again and using the latest versions of PAD and the Edge Extension

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
