Cannot sign into Power Automate Desktop - "Sign in to your account" screen blank

Hi All

Please Assist - I cannot seem to log into Power Automate Desktop with my Work Microsoft Account. It is the only one I use and have not had any such an issue with any other app. I only get a blank screen when I expect to enter my password / credentials

Hi @Jacobus_Toua ,

Can you check the following:

1) Restart and retry

2) Minimal requirements here for PAD are met.

2) Uninstall and reinstall latest version here

3) Anti virus on system or company firewall/proxy blocking it?

4) An environment with a database

You can delete the file from pad and try again,

Path:"C:\Users\usersystem name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power Automate Desktop\msalcache.bin3"

delete this file nd try again

usersystem name= your system name k

Hi @Ahammad_Riyaz - only files I can find

I deleted the cache files - but no success 😞

Hi @Jacobus_Toua

Were you able to use PAD before or is it first use?

Check the logs at "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Power Automate Desktop\Logs", it might give you a hint of what is blocking you from login. Be prepared to go through a ton of files though.

Any update on this issue? I am experiencing the same as well. I've moved the server to an OU with a GPO block. This presents the login screen, but creates other issues. Now it's down to hunting which GPO and setting is the culprit.

Hi All, update. Issue has been sorted with significant pain. I updated to windows 11 (although i experienced the problem in Windows 10 already). In short - problem is unfixable in Win11 in its current form as it has discontinued Windows explorer.  To fix the issue I had to format and revert back to 10, thereafter reset Internet Explorer setting to default - as below screen (bottom left corner).

This is a Pain, I had this problem in the past and I needed to create a new profile. today when I arrive to the office, it happen the same problem.

So for those of you that have tried all these other options in the thread and still not able to get it to come up - This is an issue with Power Automate and Internet Explorer (yeah, I know).

PA needs internet explorer to initiate the sign-in prompt. Because IE is no longer supported, it is typically locked down to the point in which you can barely browse. You'll need to change your internet zone in IE's internet options to something like Medium. Once you can get to the microsoft account login screen (https://login.microsoftonline.com) from an IE browser window, PA should then allow the prompt to come through. For those of you using Server 2008-19 you will need to go into Server Manager>Configure this local server>IE Enhanced security configuration>Set it to off.

If you're using Windows 11 you'd likely have to perform a workaround since IE isn't there anymore.  Here's a guide on how to add a Regedit key to turn on WAM and bypass the regular prompt. Not 100% sure that will work, but you'd need to find a workaround that bypasses IE.

Hope this helps the wanderers on the internet that still come across this issue.

Setting these 3 registry values worked for me.

[Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Power Automate Desktop]

UseMsalWindowsBroker=1

UseDefaultProxyCredentials=1

ProxyServer=<myproxy>

Thank you, it was the UseMsalWindowsBroker that I was missing.

Hi. How do you know your proxy value?

@Dhanesha_007 If you go into your "Proxy settings" in windows, you should see it there under manual proxy setup.

@dcullenleics  it worked. Yayyy. Thanks.

We should upvote this as the solution. I tried other mentioned solutions but none worked.

My organization is using Zscaler for security, I have reached out to my IT team and they have updated the policy for me. After that I am able to sign in successfully.
