Hi @ps_noob_to_pro !

Try this flow:

NathanAlvares24_0-1715770236854.png

the two paths: 'path' and 'path2' I had used input variables. But you can use 'Set variable' action to store the paths and then use it or simply just select or type the path in the fields for 1 and 3 actions.

Let me show you an example:

NathanAlvares24_1-1715770361870.png

I have this file on my desktop. This is a .eml file (same as .msg). The contents are as follows:

NathanAlvares24_2-1715770445305.png

Now when I use 'Launch Word' action for this file, the following will be opened:

NathanAlvares24_3-1715770524195.png

Now after this step, I simply close the word doc using 'Close Word' action. (The Focus Window action is just extra) Specify the name of the path and filename to save as. Like below:

NathanAlvares24_4-1715770645231.png

Result will be coming in pdf. Like:

NathanAlvares24_5-1715770752511.pngNathanAlvares24_6-1715770764400.png

Please do try it out. And let me know. I hope this helps.

Please follow the below approach:

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Retrieve email messages from Outlook by applying necessary filters.
  3. Save Outlook email messages based on the retrieved emails variable.
  4. Lastly, execute the PowerShell script by specifying the location where the .msg file is saved.

Deenuji_0-1715770328383.png

Place the below code in powershell:

# Define the path to the .msg file
$msgFilePath = "C:\Boot\1 of your flow(s) have failed.msg"

# Define the output PDF file path
$pdfFilePath = "C:\Boot\failed.pdf"

# Start a hidden instance of Microsoft Outlook
$outlook = New-Object -ComObject Outlook.Application

# Open the .msg file
$msg = $outlook.Session.OpenSharedItem($msgFilePath)

# Use the built-in Print to PDF printer to save the message as PDF
$msg.PrintOut()
Start-Sleep -Seconds 5 # Wait for printing to finish

# Find the recently created PDF file
$pdfFile = Get-ChildItem -Path $env:USERPROFILE -Filter "*.pdf" | Sort-Object LastWriteTime -Descending | Select-Object -First 1

if ($pdfFile -eq $null) {
    Write-Host "Error: PDF file not found."
} else {
    # Move the PDF file to the desired location
    Move-Item -Path $pdfFile.FullName -Destination $pdfFilePath -Force
    Write-Host "PDF file successfully created: $pdfFilePath"
}

# Close Outlook and release resources
$msg.Close()
$outlook.Quit()
[System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal]::ReleaseComObject($msg) | Out-Null
[System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal]::ReleaseComObject($outlook) | Out-Null

# Remove any remaining temporary PDF files
Remove-Item -Path "$env:USERPROFILE\*.pdf" -Force

The above powershell script would help you to convert email message(.msg) to pdf file.

Hi, i know it is not directly in Power Automate but you can also use an external simple software which runs on background of your pc or server and convert your msg files in real time in PDF, take a look to Automatic Email Manager from Namtuk, it will do the job easily.

Jean
