Isssue with the "From"

I have a challenge where I cannot add more than one email address from the 'From' field.  I have different clients that sends us email attachment within the same company.  I've tried everything so far no luck.  I can only use one email.  To test it, I add two email addresses with an attached file, but when I ran the script nothing happen.  But if I remove one email and ran it, the script works.  Anyone have any idea on how to do this?  Thank you!

This is just a test.  I can rename the file whatever I want.  I have two different emails and I send 4 attachment to Five Below and I sent another attachment to Five Below with a different email that contain 3 attachments.  Remember I have 2 different emails.  I pretend that I am one of the 2 carriers that send invoice to Five Below in the main email.  Don't worry about the subflows because I copy what is on the main flow and copy there so I can let you see the whole thing.  I did not want to destroy my main flow.

Ok, That would require a bit more to break out the domain from the From address, but its essentially the same process as the flow I sent screenshots from.  Here are the steps

Main Flow

1. Connect to Exchange
2. Retrieve Emails from Exchange - Set the attachments field to Save Attachments and the Save attachments into field to the folder where you want the files. The output variable is RetrievedEmails
3. A For each loop to loop through Retrieved Emails and get a current item
4. In the loop Split the From address in Current item using '@' as a delimiter store in EmailAddress
5. Split the second entry in EmailAddress, the email domain, on '.' delimter.  Save that as a variable EmailDomain. You can access the second entry using %EmailAddress[1]%
6. Set a variable called FileName to %EmailDomain[0]%. This will be the 'RLCarriers' if the FROM was JohnRobert@RLCarriers.com
7. Run a Subflow called RenameAttachment

Subflow

1. Do a For each loop on %CurrentItem.Attachments% from the main flow producing a variable called File
2. Rename the file using the below settings
3. 

The only problem you might still have is that this will only process one set of files from each email address.  You would need to find some way to add additional logic if a file from that carrier already exists.

Just to let you know the 'Retrieve Exchange email message' are the carriers email addresses.  For the example, I used the two my personal email addresses but I sent these attachments to FiveBelow.com email which I already connect to our Exchange Server once on the top of my script.

HOWEVER, WITH THE SAME CARRIER I ALSO HAVE TWO OR MORE RECIPIENTS THAT MIGHT SEND ME AN EMAIL WITH ATTACHMENTS.  BECAUSE THE COMPANY HAVE BACKUP PERSON IN CASE SOMEONE GO TO VACATION OR GET SICK.  SO I NEED TO COVER ALL THESE POSSIBLE IF PERSON 'A' DID NOT SEND IT, I KNOW PERSON 'B' WILL BE SENDING IT. IN THAT CASE THE SCRIPT NEED TO COVER FOR ALL THESE PEOPLE WITHIN THE COMPANY.

Since it is working with the email domain and not the individual user it will work no matter who sends the email as long as they are from the same email domain. JohnRobert@RLCarriers.com and Jim JimDoe@RLCarriers.com would both be renamed as RLCarriersFilename.ext

Question:  Can I put all the rename steps on one Subflows or each rename step need to be on one different subflows by itself?

It looks like I can only put one step of code in the subflows.  If I put two things, I got an error.  And the subflows is independent.  I cannot put a 'Go to" and 'Label' to call from the main to the sub.

I would say I thank you so much.  I follow everything step-by-step and I finally get it.  So, why happen if someone else in the same organization send me an email with attachment what should I do?  Should I repeat the entire process again or if there's a logic I can put, let say,  if I did not receive from this person go to the next person and if there's an attachment go ahead and download the file and rename it.  Below is the example, and it did work as you mentioned.  But I need to put a logic if someone else send me an email with attachment.

To handle that I think you'll need to either list the files in the subdirectory to get the last sequential number used and apply that in some way as the starting number. Or I would suggest differentiating the names by including the username of the person who sent the email.  You've already got that isolated as a variable when you do the first split on the email address.  Naming the files with both the domain and the user would make it unique without a lot of extra logic.

Question: When I create a New Flow should I do 'SAVE AS' or 'SAVE'?  Because I created a New Flow yesterday and give it a name and I just click on 'SAVE' to save the script.  I don't know why we have 'Save As' because all the flows will remain in the flow home page.  I just wondering what's a different between these two. I created a flow called 'Testing' and I click 'Save' to save the script, but it is automatically save the entire flow in the Home Page. UNLESS, THE SAVE AS BUTTON IS TO SAVE THE SCRIPT TO A DIFFERENT FOLDER PATH IN CASE YOU WANT TO EMAIL SOMEONE YOUR FLOW. I just

want to make sure that my work save properly and I don't want the same thing happen to me as last time.

You use Save As to create a separate copy of an existing flow.  Its useful if you have an existing flow that you want to modify in some way to re-use it in a different scenario.  But normally Save is all you need.

For example, in your case you might use Save As if you wanted to have another flow that did the same attachment rename, but used a different email inbox and a different storage location. You could Save As the existing flow to a new name and then edit the first couple actions to retrieve the emails from a different mailbox.  But nothing else would need to change.

ok, I just did a test to 'Save As' and the 'Save' button, but it won't let me open the 'Testing' flow, I can only run it.  Only the 'Testing-Copy' which I did a Save as, I can open.  Why is that?

I just want to know why the first flow 'Testing' won't open anymore after I create a 'Save As' copy? I can only run it, but it won't open to edit it.  Any idea why?

Double check that Testing isn't still open in a designer window somewhere on your computer.  Otherwise hit the Refresh in the upper right corner.  Using Save as won't keep you from editing the original.  As you can see in this screenshot I did a Save As to create a copy of Archive Folder, but I can still edit Archive Folder.  But I did refresh after saving and make sure to close all the designer windows I had open.

I would like to create a folder each month called 'P3 March 2023' for March and for April 'P4 April 2023'.  How to do this in PAD? Also, I need all the download files from the client goes into this location each month.

ok, I was playing with the date/time and I got March 2023, so how I can put 'P3' and 'P4' in front of the month and year for each month?

I did something, but I don't think is right.  Because every month I have to edit the script and pass the value P3, P4, P5 etc.  I know there's a better way to do this without me keep changing the script.

I don't understand why this file won't delete, no matter where I put it in the script it still showing up.

I don't think you can delete a file using a UNC path.  I think the file path needs to be a regular drive or mapped drive.  Somethiing like h:\ instead of \nas1\HDrive.  Also, are you sure you have security permission to delete files in that location?

Yes, I am an admin and I have permission right for the most server.  I ran it a couple times and seems to be deleted it.  I don't know why I can't before.  What about the value P3, P4, P5 etc.. I need to put that in front of the month year, can you show me how I can do that?  I sent you a couple screenshot above, please let me know.  Thanks!
