Need help with selector I find unusual

I am having trouble filling out the extract data from  from a Table using the web page helper wizard

 In the Google inspector, the item that reliably changes between rows depending on whether they are selected is

aria-selected ="true or aria-selected="false"  

I am not sure how to enter this when filling out the Helper wizard for Extract Data from web page. It doesn't seem like a normal CSS selector. Attached are screenshots of the Google Inspection and the helper wizard

Hi @Steve48 

I think you are trying to extract one column from the table present in webpage 

So make the following changes

Base Selector: table

CSS selector: tr>td

I hope this helps !

Also you can just follow the steps for extracting data by selecting first and second similar element, it will extracts all other data automatically 🙂

It never works with the 'aria-selected' or similar 'aria-*' properties of the element.

Can you please tell us what exactly you are trying to extract? We may then be able to suggest the CSS selector that could work.

I have this page. When a row is clicked in the top master table, the bottom detail table is populated  with associated data. The detail table is not initially visible but remains so once in row in the master table is selected. I want to iterate through the master table, but only want to extract data from the detail table. Attached is inspector screenshot. Yesterday I think I was confused with the aria attributes. they were in the footer of the master table.

I would suggest going with table > tbody > tr:eq(%Index%) and passing a variable for %Index%. You will probably need to check if it's every <tr> element that you need to click or every other element, because they seem to have some special classes on odd rows. So, you might need to increment your index by either 1 (if you need to click on every row) or 2 (if you want to click on every other row).

You might need to go a bit deeper there with the selector adding a <td> element at the end if it doesn't want to click on the row itself.

Although I am a newbie I have come to the conclusion that PAD can't process this page. If you look at the inspection screenshot, there are no links. It is all text. I think the page is dynamic and clicking must be handled by javascript event handlers or something like that. Dynamic? Pressing Tab also has no effect.

The fact that the Ids are dynamic does not mean PAD cannot automate it. It's frequent for web pages to have element Ids and classes that have dynamic values and we have automated numerous flows on such pages with PAD.
