Making given parameter containing both string and an integer into a condition

Hi guys, I'm looking into how to make a given data from an excel sheet into a condition in a Condition connector. The below screenshot shows set of data in the excel sheet:

image.png

The screenshot illustrates the data in an excel sheet with various alert types: "Red 1", "Red 2", "Red 3", "Red 4", "Red 5". Based on what I have understood, for instance, "Red 1" in the excel sheet contains the word "Red" and a digit "1". I'm looking into how to make the parameter "Red 1" which contains a combination of a string and an integer into a condition in a Condition connector, illustrated in the below screenshot:

image.pngWhen using the condition connector, I understand that if I want to make an integer type of data into a condition in the Condition connector, I would need to format it into an integer. For example, the code would be:

int(items('Apply_to_each')?['Example']). Likewise, for a text, I would need to format it into a string using the following code:

items('Apply_to_each')?['Example'].

In this scenario, the data I'm using for example, "Red 1" contains both a string and an integer from [Alert Type]. I want to make it into a condition in the Condition connector such that if [Alert Type] is < 4, [Alert Type] would focus on parameters of "Red 1", "Red 2" and "Red 3" according to the condition, then go to the next step.

Therefore, in summary:

Finding out what to put in the Condition connector to make the data in [Alert Type] from the excel sheet illustrated from the above screenshot into a condition in the Condition connector, putting into consideration that the data in [Alert Type] have both string and integer elements.

I would appreciate any techniques or methods available! Thank you!

Hi @v-yueyun-msft,

I managed to put 2 conditions into one "Filter Array" action, but so far did not manage to display my desired outcome. Need help with regards to generating the desired outcome from the above post. Thank you!

Hi , @Del-Dev

You can try to use this expression in your Filter array advanced side:
@and( less(int(split(item()?['Alert Type'], 'Red')?[1]), int('4')) , greater(int(item()?['Count']), int('8')) )

Hi @v-yueyun-msft,

Thank you for the suggestion, I managed to put 2 different conditions into one "Filter Array" action! With these, I'm currently looking into how to display the text in the telegram bot message action in a certain format. Below illustrates the data from an excel sheet:

DelDev_0-1718282147293.png

My intention was that with the 2 conditions in the "Filter Array" action: when [Alert Type] is < Red4 OR [Count] is > 8, I would like to display all the data from the excel sheet into the text body of the telegram bot message action in the following format at one go:

Alert Type: Red2

Count: 9

Compass: North

Heat Level: Intense Hot

Alert Type: Red3

Count: 18

Compass: South

Heat Level: Cold

In summary, I'm interested to know how to display the data in the text body of the telegram bot message action from the excel sheet in the format illustrated above. Thank you!

Hi , @Del-Dev

Thanks for your response! You can refer to my test flow:

vyueyunmsft_0-1718334034805.jpeg

concat( 'Alert Type:' , item()?['Alert Type'] , decodeUriComponent('%0A') , 'Count:' , item()?['Count'] , decodeUriComponent('%0A') , 'Compass:' , item()?['Compass'] , decodeUriComponent('%0A') ,'Heat Level:' , item()?['Heat Level'],decodeUriComponent('%0A') )

join(body('Select'),decodeUriComponent('%0A'))

And for another issue , you can feel free to post the new case so that more people will help you solve the issue~!

Hi @v-yueyun-msft,

Thank you for your suggestions! The reason why I decided to wait for your response is that I find your explanation comprehensive and easy to understand! Hope that it doesn't bring you any inconvenience.

Now I have another parameter, [Level], added into the excel sheet and illustrated in the below screenshot:

DelDev_2-1718501670755.png

I'm interested to find out if [Level] contains the word "Danger", then the rest of the data that are in the same row as the word "Danger" would be ignored. Therefore, the Telegram Bot message action would only display all the data that does not contain the word "Danger" and if a particular row contains a word "Danger" under the Column [Level], all the data of that corresponding row would not be displayed in the Telegram Bot message. This is illustrated in the format below:

Alert Type: Red3

Count: 18

Compass: South

Heat Level: Cold

Level: Normal

Hi , @Del-Dev

You can try to use this expression in your "Filter array" advaced setting:

@and( less(int(split(item()?['Alert Type'], 'Red')?[1]), int('4')) , greater(int(item()?['Count']), int('8')) ,contains(item()?['Level'], 'Danger') )

If this reply can help you , you can click mark this reply as solution (Accept solution) which can help more people, thanks in advance!
