Condition with cell value in excel

Hello everyone, 

I have problems with a condition about the value of a cell in excel:

The condition is that if the value of the ''total' field is greater than or equal to 5000 an email has to be sent to person A, and if the value is less than 5000 an email has to be sent to person B.

The excel file is uploaded to Microsoft SharePoint and the field is taking it in MS Flow but the condition does not work.

It shows me the following error:

Unable to process template language expressions for action 'Condition_Total' at line '1' and column '34993': 'The template language function 'greaterOrEquals' expects two parameter of matching types. The function was invoked with values of type 'String' and 'Integer' that do not match.'.

What should I have to do?

HI @xavierolvera 

Your value from excel will be returned as a string.  You need to wrap it in int() and from memory, I think you don't need to do it to the number as it will infer as an int.

Jump into expression tab, type int(), and then click in dynamic and select your total value and then give it a go!

I tried to do what you said, but when I select int () I can't see my total value field.

Maybe I need to do an additional process that I am not aware of.

if you reinsert the original dynamic value and then use the ellipses and peek code, you can copy the expression and paste it into the int().

This doesn't appear to have been ever successfully resolved. I'm sure you've moved past it at this point, but want to put a final solution here for others who are having your same questions.

At heart, the dynamic content in power automate are just pre-defined expressions. for instance, the total field from excel actually looks like this expression.

outputs('Get_a_row')?['body/Total']

And if you were to type that code into the expression editor, you would get the same value as you do when you use the dynamic content. You can see this when you hover your mouse pointer over the dynamic content in your condition item.

So all you have to do is wrap that expression in int().

int(outputs('Get_a_row')?['body/Total'])

Alternatively, you can start typing the expression,

and while your cursor is in the parentheses, click dynamic content, and select your content. (my example uses "index" instead of "Total")

Notice that the int function remains and my dynamic content has been entered as an expression inside it. Then click OK.
