Flow Condition Will Not Open To Allow Me To See Error Details

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with one of my Flows this morning. The Flow failed over the weekend, and I would like to open up the error details to see what broke; however, my Flow is not allowing me to expand the approval outcome condition, so I can navigate to the specific error. The condition step is greyed out and when I click it I am receiving a javascriptvoid(0) message. Has anyone seen this before or know how to fix it?

Or is there another way to view Power Automate Flow failed details? Thanks!

The Flow just stops after 30 days.  You can see in your run exactly what actions did and did not get executed.  In your case, it appears as though the Flow never got past the Approval.  The Flow died while waiting on actions from an approver.

No problem. Due to the error detailed above I cannot expand the Flow further down — apologies.

As you can see, the management outcome condition is greyed out. The workflow runs as such: 

1. A document is created

2. Our management team makes updates and approves the document

2. Our CFO reviews the updates and approves

3. Our CEO reviews the updates and approves

4. The document is approved on SharePoint

 

The variables set above are all strings for either email groups or timers for reminder emails. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thank you!

Can you expand the Management Do Until loop - it is likely that is where the error occurred.  The Condition is greyed out because it was never executed.

The Management Do until loop is a simple reminder email that is sent one week after the workflow has begun to the Management Update approvers (and each week after if still not approved). I am pretty sure this is not where the workflow failed because two days ago before this error the Flow had successfully moved past this point.

This section of the workflow runs as follows:

1. The Management Timer variable is a string that is initially set to "Started". 

2. As the Management Updates approval starts, the Management Do until loop is initiated as well. 

4. When the Management Do until loop is started there is a one week delay. After that if the Management Timer is still set to 'Started", an email is sent to the Management group, initialized in the Management Emails variable. 

5. The Management Do until loop will repeat until the Management Timer variable is equal to complete, which is set once the Management Updates approval is approved by everyone in the Management Emails group.

I just noticed that your screen shot shows that the Flow was started on 17 July.  Is it possible that the Flow timed out?  Flows can run for a maximum of 30 days.  The condition never executed because no action was taken on the approval - I assume that it is a start wand wait type of approval.

It's possible that was the main cause of the failure. Are users not be able to click through the workflow to see where exactly their Flows timed-out?

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
