Reply To Email (V3)

Hi, the issue I'm having is that a reply to a sent email (from me to recipient) goes to myself and the recipient. I only want the email to go to recipient.

Screen Shot 2020-04-15 at 9.22.00 PM.png

When I reply to an email from my sent mail folder, I set reply all to false and add an email in the "to" field. I've also used Reply All to yes and removed the email from the "to" field -- I get the same result.

***** EDIT *****

Per @DeepakS (below), there is no way around this.

This issue was "tricking" the logic in my other flows to produce incorrect results.

MY SOLUTION: The work around I used was to create an IF condition that checked to see if an incoming email was coming from myself.

Hi @ShaunW ,

Could you please take a try to make a test again?

I have made a test on my side to send the email with the "Reply To Email (V3)" action, and your issue couldn't be confirmed on my side, the action would send the email with To field only contains the recipient's email address without myself email address.

Best Regards,

Alice

Hi @v-alzhan-msft ,

Thanks for your help. I ran the flow again, same result. I am replying to a "sent" email from me -- I sent email to recipient. In this situation, I am the sender -- I am replying to an email where I am the sender. Just emphasizing the point for clarity...

Shaun

Hi @DeepakS ,

Thanks, I expected this might be the case. Is there any documentation that exists that goes into detail on the topic? Can you send?

The Microsoft power automate documentation site didn't have any detail.

@DeepakS Thanks. I couldn't find other documentation either. Given your clout / experience, I accepted your advice / solution.

@ShaunW  - what did you do exactly to overcome this issue. I wanted an alternate not to send myself.

There has to be a way around this. All I want to do it forward an email and add some formatted information to it.

 Options;

1. Reply - but this always includes the original sender even though they are not included in the 'To' field. As mentioned above, there seems to be no way around this which seems ridiculous. Maybe add a flag to opt in or out would be a good idea?

2. I can Forward the email but then I am only able to add a comment in an unformatted message with no carriage returns etc. It's unusable for sending a multiple lines of data as I wish to do.

So MS have designed a rich email control for Reply but not implemented it for Forward. This would be okay if Reply did not always include the From addressee.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I have also created a flow to send a reply e-mail from sent mail outlook.

If I run the flow both recipient as well as sender (myself) will receive the mail.

I think there must be a solution to this.

If any have the solution it will be very helpful.

Why do you want to reply to a sent email? What's your aim?

Has anybody figured out how @ShaunW implemented his workaround? I can't seem to wrap my head around it.
