for me complex scenario

Hi community.

I am looking for a solution for this scenario.

I have a PowerApps which will run a flow through click on button, this flow creates a list with all columns that I need.

That works fine, but now the complexity, I need also to fill in items into the new created list via power Automate, therefore I created a flow with some steps.

OlafW23_0-1668696156247.png

In First Step I get the list name form PowerApps, that´s an output of first Flow, as a textinput Field.

Then I initialized a variable to use.

The Get items Step works fine, but my problem is in apply to each I have this

Here is the problem, I can´t set the according columns.

I Tested with manual flow there I have the ability to set the column

In this test I entered the list name directly.

I need to enter the list name as variable form my PowerApps textinput

Any ideas ????

@OlafW23  in this case where you need to use variable as the name of list, i would suggest to create item using Rest API in Send HTTP Request to SharePoint action instead of using Create Item action. You can refer to this blog as starting point on how to use REST API to create item in Power Automate, https://www.annajhaveri.com/power-automate/rest-api-to-create-and-update-sharepoint-list-items-from-... and if you need further help let me know.

@annajhaveri , I will read it and try it. Thanks so far

HI @annajhaveri , Maybe I explained not the correct way. I have two Flows, one for creating the columns for the list, that works fine, I need a solution to copy from a masterlist, in my steps above I have the problem that the list schema is not available since the list is created.

@OlafW23  yes i understand, when you use dynamic name for list in Create Item action, the columns will not be available. There isnt any copy item action available. So first you have to get item details from master list if you dont have it in the flow already, then you can use REST API in Send HTTP Request to SharePoint action to create item in another list using values from the master list.

@OlafW23  do you want to create one item in the other list or multiple items? The Get Items action in your case is getting 151 items, I think you need to apply Filter Query on Get Item so that it returns only those items that you need to create from the master list.

Anna Jhaveri

@annajhaveri , the bad news I need to create all 151 items from the masterlist, and the materlist will grow, I know this will be a lack of time, during creating the items at once, Regards Olaf

@OlafW23  okay but you will need some type of filter, for example if your flow runs today and it creates 151 items from master list. Then next time your flow runs and if master list has 200 items, then 151 items from it would already have been created in previous run, so in current run does it need to create all 200 items or just 49 items?

Anna Jhaveri

@annajhaveri , hi that is correct, but in my scenario not necessary, because the master list will only copy once after creation of list. If a new item in master list is created, I will have a flow that will copy it to the lists, first I need the copy process. then I will think about the next step

@OlafW23  in that case i recommend to bulk create items in SharePoint so that the flow performance is not affected. Here is a blog i found https://www.tachytelic.net/2021/06/power-automate-flow-batch-create-sharepoint-list-items/?amp you can use as reference
