send e-mail with attachment

Hello, I have two flows based on the same sharepoint list sending emails with attachment. One is working , second one not.

Flow which is working:

The second one has no errors but email is sending without an attachment:

Can you help me with that ? Or propose flow which allows me to send two, seperate e-mails with attachment from the same sharepoint list to different recipient?

Moreover, then I want to ask my recipient about add notes to the attachment , send back and upload it back to sharepoint list 🙂 Maybe there is somebody who knows how it should be done ?

Hi @Karolina776

You should add AttachmentArray variable in the below field in send email action

note: make sure that you select this option to pass the array in the below field like below

Hi @Karolina776

Let's discuss the reason behind second flow not sending emails

Could you answer the following questions

1) Does the item being modified has attachments present in it ?

2) Have you added the attachments array in the send email action for second flow ?

Kindly let me know 🙂

My answers for your questions below:

1) Yes, i has.

2) I have attachment array before "send an email". I do not know how should I put it in "send an email" action, should I do that ?

Sorry, You already answer it  🙂 Let me check if everything works, I will come back with answer

You were right, it works! Thank you!

Do you know if it is possible to attach an email only last added attachment on sharepoint list ?

Hi @Karolina776

Yes that seems possible.

I have made the code optimized in such a way that it first find the attachment which is latest and then retrive the attachment content and send it as email. Via this, this would helps avoiding reading all attachments content which would save time 🙂

see design below:

1. Get the items from sharepoint

Nived_Nambiar_0-1692961123934.png

2. Initialize a variable called AttachmentsArray

Nived_Nambiar_1-1692961159058.png

3. Now use apply to each loop to loop through all items

Nived_Nambiar_2-1692961196008.png

Next steps would be explained what would be done in the loop

3.1. Get the attachment of the item

Nived_Nambiar_3-1692961265781.png

3.2 use apply to each to loop through body dynamic content of get attachments

Nived_Nambiar_4-1692961337767.png

3.3 :  use get file meta data to get metdata of the attachment

Nived_Nambiar_5-1692961423097.png

3.4 use append to array to append the ListItemID, FileID, DisplayName and last modfied date to Attachments Array variable.

Now exiting out of main loop, do the following things

4.  use compose action to reverse the array which is sorted in ascending order by ModifiedDate as key to sort it.

Nived_Nambiar_6-1692961550359.png

reverse(sort(variables('AttachmentsArray'),'ModifiedTime'))

The output of this would be an array sorted by ModifiedTime in descending order, by this it means first item of that array contains the attachment detail which is recently uploaded to sharepoint !

5. Use get attachment content to get attachment content like below for recently uploaded attachment
Nived_Nambiar_7-1692961721006.png

Nived_Nambiar_8-1692961750905.png

6. Send an email with latest attachment content like below

Nived_Nambiar_9-1692961800873.png

Nived_Nambiar_10-1692961823145.png

I have tested it and it is working fine !
