AI Builder and SharePoint Syntex

Hi, I have been directed to place a query in this forum after posting my question in the Microsoft Community forum.

Is there a pre-requisite to have AI Builder credits in order to use SharePoint Syntex (once licenced to use Syntex)? There is a suggestion in the Syntex documentation (Set up SharePoint Syntex | Microsoft Docsthat if you have less than 300 Syntex licences AI Builder credits are required to be purchased.

I am trying to determine the actual cost of using Syntex which would include Syntex licences and the cost of any additional services required. At the moment, it is not clear to me whether any AI Builder credits are required, or if they are included in the Syntex per user licence.

This may not be the right forum for this question, but any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous,

When you acquire the Syntex license, you indeed need to have at least 300 seats to be entitled with AI Builder credits automatically. If you acquire a Syntex license with less seats or with a trial license you can't use AI Builder, unless you buy AI Builder credits independently and assign them to your default environment.

If you need to discuss your business case with us, we'd be happy to have a call, let us know!

Thanks.

Hi Antrod, and many thanks for responding.

I must admit that I am still not clear.  I understand that to use Forms Processing in AI Builder I need to purchase AI Builder credits, however, do I need credits to use Syntex and the Content Centre to build a model etc. Does using Syntex mean I have to have AI Builder credits, or can I use Syntex without AI Builder credits needing to be purchased?

Thanks.

Did u find the answer? I am also interested to know if ai builder credits are required for syntex?

Hi @Dinesh , @Anonymous ,

Sorry this thread got out of our radar! Let me gather all the answers for you 🙂

  • Syntex is a set of functionalities and among them you can create AI Builder models.
  • AI Builder models can't be created without credits in the context of Syntex (Outside of Syntex, you can go directly to Power Automate or Power Apps portal where to try AI Builder)
  • Today, Syntex comes with AI Builder credits once your company gets 300+ Syntex licenses (we are working on improving this to make AI Builder even more accessible, stay tuned!). If your company doesn't have these 300+ licenses, the other Syntex functionalities are accessible but you won't be able to use AI Builder within Syntex as you don't have credits.
  • Note that if you have consumed all the AI Builder credits that are included with Syntex, it's possible to buy AI Builder add-on units and it will also work with Syntex (your admin just needs to assign the credits to the power platform environment tight to Syntex)

Hope that clarify things. Let us know if you have other questions.

Hello,

I can't find anything more in the documentation about the following statement. Does this minimum still exist?

"Today, Syntex comes with AI Builder credits once your company gets 300+ Syntex licenses (we are working on improving this to make AI Builder even more accessible, stay tuned!)"

Many thanks in advance

EDIT:

In the license terms I just found the information that the minimum has been removed 🙂

Hello @Antrod ,

can you confirm that that the minumum of licensce have been removed?

Hello,

On multiple tenants we have only a few users with a MS Syntex license and we were granted AI Builder credits (3500 per license)

However the per-user Syntex license is being removed. Now you have to set-up syntex with an azure pay-as-you-go subscription.

"As of July 1, 2023, per-user licenses are no longer available for purchase. You will need to set up pay-as-you-go billing.Per-user licenses purchased before July 1, 2023, can still be assigned to new users. After existing per-user licenses expire, you will need to opt-in to Syntex pay-as-you-go billing."
