Tagging Area

Does the bot perform better at recognizing values if the user selects all of the area a value could appear in vs just the actual value?  See pic.

Good that I asked about tables. 😉 The following documentation page shows how to tag tables: Create a document processing custom model in AI Builder | Microsoft Learn

When you say header for the rows, you mean 1,2,3... in your example? There's no option to define header row in this case, but you can just tag it as another column like this:

Hi @Etignor1 - good question! 🙂 It doesn't make any difference if you tag all area or not. The bot will perform equally well.

If I may ask, what you are tagging on the screenshot seem to be a table. Any particular reason why you are tagging each line as a separate field and not as a table?

Glad you asked about the table.  I tried to tag as table.  After playing with it an hour or so and watching videos, I just couldn't figure out how to properly tag it.  I didn't know how to make headers for the rows.  I could add rows, just not label them properly.  All I could figure out was the columns so any reference videos you could link would be appreciated.

I'd love to be able to figure out how to tag a table and have it set like this:

Etignor1_0-1671661592907.png

Here's what the original data I'm extracting looks like:

Ahh.  Great.  I'll deep dive on this tonight.  Thank you sir!!

Follow up question.  How do I use the data the AI collects in my desktop flows?  As in your example above, how do I tell PA to send "A peaceful meadow" as input variable %04_Description%?

It's the 4th row down and I'm wanting the description to flow into my input variable.

Probably the best option is to pass the table as a datatable like this: Pass a datatable from a cloud flow to a desktop flow - Power Automate | Microsoft Learn

I'm sorry to bother you again but I've looked at your link and followed it however I need more information about the initialize variable step in PA.  Specifically, I'm not understanding what I need to put in the Value field of the step.

I see in the example it shows:

[.

   {

"Name": "Tania"

"Last Name": Agius",

"Email": "taniaagius@contoso.com"

},

I'm not familiar with this.  I assume that some of the text is referencing the name of the column in my data table and I assume the value for that column.  I've tried to search for videos on this but haven't been successful.  Could you explain any further or point me in the direction of more information on this?

Hi again @Etignor1

In your case it should be something like this:

JoeFMSFT_0-1671753330277.png

For each item, on the 'Append to array variable' action make sure you select {table name} {column name} value.

Keep us posted on how your bot is progressing! 🤖

I'm still very lost.  Below is my flow and the last shot shows the flow ran successfully however, it didn't.  It never opened up my PAD flow and I can't see any of the output.  Those options are grayed out.

Hi! Let's find the way forward together.

The first thing you'll need to change is the input in the 'Apply to each' loop. It looks like you've selected the DatatableAsJson attribute. You need to select the output from AI Builder: {your table name} entries

 JoeFMSFT_0-1672066256106.png

The second thing you will need to do is to move the ´Run a flow built with Power Automate Desktop´ outside the Apply to each loop

Happy holidays!

This worked!  Thanks!!
