Adobe Merge PDFs operation is failing because the input file appears to be corrupted

I am having some trouble in the final step of this flow and after trying various different ways to combine the PDF's using the Adobe PDF service, it keeps coming back as corrupted. It feels like the data used to create the PDF is in the wrong format or something is missing but I cant find it.

The flow is triggered by selecting a file in SharePoint and then creating a new PDF from a word template. This is then saved down (which I want to remove or delete at the end as it is just for the merge) and then merge the two documents, assuming the selected file is also a PDF. It creates the title page and converts these to PDF and creates these on the SharePoint fine but when it gets to the merge, it doesn't want to merge. I have tried using get content and also using the get PDF properties JSON stream but both say the file is corrupted.

I have checked the files and used different ones so they are definitely not corrupt but this is the error it comes back with.

Thanks in advance for any help.

When testing technical solutions, you have to rule out certain issues before moving on. You need to confirm both Base64 inputs are valid PDFs before troubleshooting other possible issues.

You could try using Encodian's Merge documents to PDF or Merge document array to PDF actions to see ifit gives the same error. You can sign up free and use them free to test (no credit card required). If Encodian works, then its likely a bug with the Adobe action. If it throws up the same error, then you need to validate your Base64

Why are you not just passing through the SharePoint file content for the second file?

Whats the input in Files Item 1 in the Merge PDF action. Looks like you might be using Filename rather than file content.

Not sure you need all these steps. Why can't you just pass the file content from Populate Word directly to Adobe without all the create file, get file content actions.

Yes I have added the additional steps just to confirm the file actually creates and converts to check it wasn't actually corrupt but I must be missing something, here is the code view of the merge:

@LeeA

Go to run history, download inputs to Merge PDF action and check that Base64 encoded file content is valid: Base64 to PDF | Base64 Decode | Base64 Converter | Base64

Thanks again for your response @AlexEncodian

I have tested one of the base64 inputs which works fine (the created document from word to pdf) but the selected document which is much larger I cant seem to paste in as the browser crashes but the format looks the same. See below the start and end of the output. It also contains "," in between the two file contents

Thanks again @AlexEncodian

Your one worked first time! I have been round in circles with the Adobe PDF one and it turns out it must be an issue with the Adobe function!

@LeeA

Glad it was an easy fix. All the Adobe actions are available within Encodian if needs be.
