After switching to Code View in a "Send an email" step, how do you switch back to normal view?

I am composing a message and wanted to edit the html of the text but now I can't get back to the normal mode.

I have the same problem, the button to switch off the code view is greyed out and won't let me switch back.  Has anyone found a solution?

I have the same issues. Is there a resolution to this?

I'm having the same issue; the </> is greyed out.... any solution? I tried opening a new window, logging into a diff terminal, and still the same issue. It seems to only apply to that specific flow, not others.

Could be there's some invalid HTML syntax which needs to be corrected? Does the button come back to life if you ctrl-x the contents out? If so, use an online HTML validator to check your code.

I keep re-writing my flow because the 'code view' is disabled anytime an apply to each is added to 'Send an Email'. I find this very frustrating I can't switch back. I think this must be a bug in the tool.

It happens to me too.

After I delete all the email body, then i can switch back.

Not ideal solution as you want to use both the code view and the text view to edit the email body.

@Anonymous Automate, will you have a fix for this anytime soon?

I found if you delete the dynamic content references out, you can then switch back. Not ideal because you still have to add them all back manually, but at least you're not reconstructing the whole thing.

Thank you so much! This works. Beats re-writing it over and over again. I appreciate your response. Hopefully Power Automate will have a better solution someday.

You’re welcome. I’ve received a lot of assistance in these forums, glad to get a chance to pay it back.

Also, if you remove any additional html tag if you have added, that will also help you switch back to the e-mail view.

For e.g., I used bold html <b> tag to bold some of the key messages in my e-mail. Once I removed the bold tag, it helped me switch back to e-mail view.

I have an odd version of this issue. I had entered the HTML editor mode, added a hyperlink with reference to a dynamic item (<a href="@{items('Apply_to_each')?['{Link}']}">HERE</a>) and when saved (without returning to normal mail edit mode) and running, it worked! But when I went back look at the flow again, it had returned to normal mode and the link was broken.

Here is the interesting thing. I had done essential the same thing in another flow and it did NOT switch back to the regular email editor mode. For this reason, it KEEPS WORKING the way I want. So, what I really want to know is - how can I make it STAY in HTML editor mode even after saving, exiting and re-entering the flow in the Power Automate tool?

I think I've found a solution.

In my case the </> was greyed out and un-clickable because I had edited the code displayed. Whilst my edits worked and were seen in the changes to the flow, they prevented me from leaving code view.

Once I removed the changes I had made, the button became clickable again.

The button will gray out if the code is incomplete of is missing a key.

Just verify the code.

I have missed a <p> and that was it.

After added, button light up and switched back.

What if you don't know how to code?  You're out of luck?? Leave it to Microsoft to create a mess.

I have the same issue, but tracked it down to the Dynamic Content reference in the <a href> </a> section. As soon as ai delete that dynamic content I can switch back otherwise greyed out. Since that is coming from Power Automate there is no code snippet that I can check or correct.
