Apply to each 10 limit reached - 'Create item' to populate in another list

Hello,

I hope someone can help. 

I'm putting together a flow so that once an item is created in one list it is populated in another list - I'm using two lists as it is currently not possible to lock down columns, so there is one list for 'public' and the other list is for admins. 

So they make their entry - this then gets populated into the admin list. The problem I'm having is when I use the dynamic data for the fields (there are a number of columns) I reach the apply to each limit and I get the following error message: 

"The template actions 'Apply to each 10' are nested at level '9' which exceeds the maximum nesting limit of '8'."

For some reason the apply to each function kicks in and then I'm limited.

Why you have too many Apply each. Generally after the Get Items you should only have one Apply to each and map the value like below. Then add the Create item and map all the dynamic values.

Hello thanks for your reply!

I have no idea! As soon as I get half way through the form the 'apply to each' kicks in. I have another 6 entries in the form that I need to enter. I tried your approach and it's pretty much the same thing as the the apply to each kicks in. 

Is there an alternative way to do this?

Hi @Anonymous ,

If the List Name configured in the trigger and Get items action is the same, you could use Get item action instead of Get items action.

Even you could configure the flow without adding Get item action. You could use the dynamic content output by the trigger to configure the following action.

Besides, I noticed that some fields in this list allow multiple selections. The flow you are configuring will create many unnecessary items.

You could click the following icon and fill the corresponding dynamic in the field. Then you don’t need to use Apply to each.

Thanks again for this. 

I have tried your approach but for some reason I do not have the same options. I have tried the 'Initialize variable' route but again I fall into the apply to each trap. Thank you for your time.

Hi @Anonymous ,

It seems that these fields are choice or person field.

If it does not allow multiple selections, you could click Enter custom value and fill corresponding dynamic content in these fields.
