Attending List for Sports Team

Hello Everyone,

today me and my Colleague messed around with power Automate for the first time and it was quite fun. 

We are a non-Profit Sports club and want to use Power Automate to do the following (but we have no clue how to do it)

Prior to a particular practice we want players to sign up so that the Coaches know, how many players will attend practice.

One idea:Maybe via using a channel for practices where the Admin writes the Date and time of the practice and all the players who will come, react with an thumbs up. 👍

When the practice actually takes place and the players are actually on the field we want the players to „check in“ for statistic reasons. We want to keep track who and how many players come to practice in a year with charts and all. 

Can anyone help us how we can get this done please? Thanks!

One approach for building this solution would be:

You can create a MS form asking for all the details of a player so that they can sign-up for coaches.

Also create a Sharepoint list that can hold all the users data

Once the players fill out the details, you can create a flow which somewhat looks like this:

Along with the flow, you can consider having a PowerApp where the users will have to check-in whenever they come for practice by pressing a button in the PowerApp and that will update their attendance count in Sharepoint list for that user record.

The Sharepoint which is the datasource can have all the details of the users and each time they check-in, the attendance count can be increased by adding the necessary logic to the powerApp.

After collecting the data over a year, the sharepoint list data can be used as a datasource for a PowerBI dashboard.

Hi Vitas,

thank you very much for responding. I think I came closer to the first question about signing up for practice since I already have the players detailes stored.

I will just create a message in a channel containing the date and ask the players who want to attent the practice to react with a thumbs up.

For the second question about the statistics I was thinking of an excel sheet where the rows are the names of all the Players on our Team and the columns are the Dates. I thought there might be a way to extract the Date out of a message in the Channel and create a new column with that Date in an Excel sheet.

And maybe when a Player replys to that message (for example: "I am here :-)") the Excel sheet will make an entry in the column of the date and the row of the Players name and change the value of that cell to "1".

I have never worked with Power App and maybe this Project is too much for me. What do you think?

Hi @Lichlions :

It actually depends on how the players want to check-in their attendance.

I was thinking they can show up to the coach and ask them to add their attendance. The coach can just pull up a simple PowerApp that has a gallery populated by the same Excel/Sharepoint list of Users. For the corresponding player, they can just click on check-in button and the attendance for that particular player will be incremented by 1 each time they attend. (also update the current date if necessary in another column)
