Building Manual Flow to send Contact information to MailChimp List

Hi all,

 

My company has a need for a button Flow to send the First Name, Last Name, and Email of a Contact over to one of our MailChimp list. The connection between MailcHimp and Dynamics is already made, and works properly.

 

My problem is that the flow, as currently constructed, does not give me a Dynamic Value for the ItemIdentifier required for the 'Get Record' action from Dynamics. I believe I would need to put Dynamic Value in that field so that we can select the correct contact to send over to MailChimp each time it is used, but when I use the List Records action to find a Dynamic Value, I don't see any options for the Item Identifier. Please see below as to how my Flow is currently built. Organization name removed for privacy purposes. Please let me know what to do to make this work!! All help much appreciated.

@dompilione 

First of all the connector that you are using to connect to dynamics 365 is already deprecated so you need to:

1. Add your flow inside a solution , you can create a solution by going to make.powerapps.com

2. Use the CDS (Current Environment) Connector-> List rows action and then add Apply_to_each action to loop through your contacts and Add Member to List

Hi Mira, thank for the response. I tried attempting, followed step by step what you had above, this way but now I am getting a 400 status code in response to my request. Please see screenshot below if you have any ideas on how to proceed.

You are adding apply to each on the list rows but I can't see u are using the values from ur contact on the Add Member.

So you're saying to change how I have it below to using the Text input's from the first step? This is how it is as of now.

Nope, I changed it like you suggested and it runs cleanly now with no hiccups. I'm still not getting it to show up in my MailChimp list, but that feels like it's a separate issue from Power Automate. Thank you so much for your help!

 

If you don't mind - what is the point of the List Rows step in this flow? I just want to understand the concepts a little better as to why we need to List the Rows and then show the values for the Add to EAch step. If you have any good resources to learn from I'm all ears 🙂 Thank you again so much!

I followed your flow , you were using List Records to get the contacts , so it is like a retrieve multiple records but if your case is just passing parameters through the manual flow then this is a different case.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
