Building a do until and using if ()

Im working on making an approval flow that will allow for the approver to be able to request more information. Im trying to add the following if(iterationIndexes ('Do_until' is not equal to 0), 'Post_a_choice_of_options_as_the_Flow_bot_to_a_user'['comments'], Nothing) to get information only on iterations that are not 0. See the picture of the flow that i'm working on.  Anyone have any ideas on how to get the If to work on this flow?Screen Shot 2020-03-19 at 11.24.01 AM.png

Hi!

So you want to control nr of Do until iterations, right?

Did you try a different approach, that is to initialize an int variable before the apply to each, assign it 0 as value; and evaluate it on your Condition if it equals to 1? THen you just need to add 'Increment variable' value 1, inside your Do Until at the top.

Hope this helps

PD. Not sure which is the dynamic content you have currently assigned on the left side of your Condition rule. But, if you want to insist on your current approach, you can add a dummy Compose action block before the condition, assign this dynamic content as its input, so you can inspect its value once you reexecute your flow

Do you have an example of this in a flow?

Hi @Dr_virus ,

Could you please share a full screenshot of the configuration of your flow? I see you have an Apply to each outside the Do until, what is the Value in the input field of the Apply to each?

What is the problem in your flow? which part don't work?

Could you please explain more details about the iterationIndexes?, Why are you compare it with 0?

What is your full requirement

Please explain more details so we would better understand your issue and provide a proper workaround for you.

Best regards,

Alice

Hi!

If you Do Until is inside an apply to each, you will need to declare variable before the 'Apply to each' and also reset its value to zero inside the 'Apply to each' and before your 'Do until'.

Flow_DoUntil_2.png

But as @v-alzhan-msft suggests, it is more reasonable to share as much details as possible from your flow design, since what I am doing is to provide general recommendations bt we still do not have the overall picture

THanx!

He is a quick flow chart of the process. Where im having problems is Getting the Teams choice comment to be put in to the approval. when the forum is submitted it skips sending the teams msg requesting more information and errors out the flow since there was no input there. So what i want to do it only get that information in the approval if the approval has already selected need more information then it would grab that information and add it to the approval.

The problem that i would have with this is that on the first iteration i do not want the teams msg to be sent only for everyone after that

Hi @Dr_virus

Why not add an IF condition against a counter. Initialise a counter. Increment the counter once the message is sent.

Thanks

Hi @Dr_virus ,

If the start an approval action would use the output from the teams action, you couldn't skip the teams action and run the approval.

Alice
