Button -> Create Team -> Create Folder -> Copy Files

I'm trying to use a mobile button to create a team, create a folder in the new teams general channel files & then copy a couple of template files over. 

Team creation is easy enough I'm stuck trying to create a folder or even copying the files over to the root of the general channels files.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi @coleson ,

The files for a Team's channel resides in the backing SharePoint site under /Documents/<Channel Name>.

You can use the Create file action for the SharePoint connector to copy your files from a OneDrive location over. If you want to drop it in a sub folder called "Templates" within General for example, you would specify "/Documents/General/Templates" as the folder path (it will create the folder if it doesn't exist).

My apologies, the Team URL is used to open Teams to that specific team. I was hoping there would be an easy way to get the related site, but it looks like you need to use the Microsoft Graph API to get the SharePoint site URL for the Team/Group (both ID's are the same).

A couple key considerations to note before proceeding:

1. Global Admin will need to grant consent for Graph API permissions for the App Registration.
2. HTTP in Power Automate is a premium connector.

You'll need to register an application in Azure Active Directory (AAD) so that the the flow can authenticate to the Graph API via OAuth2. Make sure you do the following when setting this up:

• Record the Tenant ID and Client ID
• Generate a secret and record this.
• Under API Permissions > Add Permission > Microsoft Graph > select Group.ReadAll. Ensure Admin Consent is then granted. 

Create the Team in your flow.

Use the HTTP action to issue a GET request to the Graph API. The URL to retrieve the SharePoint site of the group is as such:

https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/groups/{New Team ID}/sites/root 

Plug in the TenantID, ClientID, and Client Secret from the AAD App Registration you setup.

Save and test your flow. Copy the output body from the flow run. Add a Parse JSON action, click Generate from Sample, and paste in the output from your test run so that it can generate the schema. This will ensure you can get the dynamic property webURL from the HTTP action and pass it as the site URL into the SharePoint connector.

For simple demonstration I just created a static text file, but I tested and verified it works.

For your scenario, add your OneDrive find files / apply each actions after the Parse JSON action and you should be good to go.
