Hello all,
I'm trying to get the PowerApps Send Push Notification working but must be doing something wrong. First off, I'm confused because everywhere I look says it is a PREMIUM feature, but it shows Preview for me.
I've added the PowerAppsNotification to my PowerApp and am trying to use PowerAutomate to send the notification when a new item is added to a SharePoint List. My flow shows that it completed successfully but I do not receive an email notification on my iOS device. I keep reading that I need to use the App ID but don't see anywhere to add that. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Solved! Go to Solution.
It asks for the AppId when you create an instance of the Notification connector. here are two screenshots. The first is when creating the connector in Power Apps and the second when creating it in Power Automate (Flow).
First, Preview means that the feature may change or be removed before it is made GA (General availability). The Preview label has nothing to do with Standard Vs. Premium. From the documentation the Power Apps Notification connector should be standard, although the examples that are give use CDS, which is Premium. But that's because they use CDS, not because of the notification.
The other misconception I think you have is that you are sending the notification to Power Apps. You aren't. You are sending the notification to a specific Power App that you have installed and running on a mobile device. That's where the AppId comes in. It identifies which Power App you are sending the notification to. You can find the AppId for a specific application on the details page that you access from the context menu '...' next to the app in the list of apps in Power Apps. See the screenshot below. The app must be loaded on your phone and have run in the background at least once to get the notification. I believe you will also need to enable Notifications in your Phone's settings for the Power Apps mobile app.
@Pstork1 Thanks for the quick reply and clarification on Preview vs. Standard and Premium.
I totally get that I need to associate the AppID to send to a specific App within PowerApps, but where do I put the AppID? I have run the app at least once and in the background and I have already verified that iPhone notifications are turned on for PowerApps. I just don't know where I associate the AppID. I know I'm missing something stupid but have checked everywhwere.

@Pstork1It finally works, thank you so much! The problem was that I somehow had an existing connection for PowerApps and was expecting the appID pop up when I clicked that connection. I added a NEW connection in both PowerApps and PowerAutomate and was given the AppID field.
Really appreciate your patience with this one!
Hi! sorry for the old response but I can't get this push notification working. If I use the PowerAppsNotification connector in my Power App I get to use the function where I have to manually type the message, recipients, etc. Tried that but no push notification shows whatsoever, no error either.
I tried with a Flow using the Power App notification conector, had the same settings you guys show in this messages, put the AppId but still, the Flow runs but no push notification on my device. I'm going crazy on this one
Where are you expecting the notification to show up? The push notification only works if you are running the Power Apps client. That's where the notification appears.
I'm expecting to show up anywhere at this point. Even with the Power App being open nothing happens. It works perfectly on IOS devices, but in Android the notification never happens, tried v1 and v2 of the connector, but nothing happens.
There have been some issues with regression bugs on the Android mobile client lately. This may be a symptom of that. The fix is due to rollout to users on Oct 27th from what I've heard. That may solve the problem. But if it works on IOS and not Android then you aren't doing it wrong. Its a bug.
Thanks, do you have any link or where do you recommend to look up for the rollout dates for those fixes? so I don't have to be bothering you or other people here at the forum 😄
There isn't anywhere that those are recorded that I know of. I actually know about this one from dealing with another question here on the forums.
Please post this as a new question. You'll get more responses and others will be able to find the answer more easily later.
