Hello,
For a client I automatically create a SharePoint site (with Power Automate) for every new project (sql connection). Besides the Site I create a document library. On the start page of the site I want to Quick Links so that my users can easily navigate to the right documents. Is it possible to change a url of an existing Quick Links Tile with Power Automate? Or is is possible to create a new Tile and show it on my start page with Power Automate?
For me it is important that all happens automatically so that I dont have to change the Tiles url manually.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance!

Hi @Anonymous,
Multiple tiles at once should be possible. You can add multiple urls and titles in the webPartData part of the json. Just make sure you use different indexes for each item. items[0].sourceItem.url, items[1].sourceItem.url, etc.
Below is an example
{
"__metadata": {
"type": "SP.Publishing.SitePage"
},
"CanvasContent1": "[{\"controlType\":3,\"webPartId\":\"c70391ea-0b10-4ee9-b2b4-006d3fcad0cd\",\"position\":{\"zoneIndex\":1,\"sectionIndex\":1,\"controlIndex\":1,\"sectionFactor\":8},\"id\":\"5f80a41e-a354-4bdf-9b21-42539ba00d98\",\"addedFromPersistedData\":true,\"reservedHeight\":127,\"reservedWidth\":776,\"webPartData\":{\"id\":\"c70391ea-0b10-4ee9-b2b4-006d3fcad0cd\",\"instanceId\":\"5f80a41e-a354-4bdf-9b21-42539ba00d98\",\"title\":\"Quick links\",\"audiences\":[],\"serverProcessedContent\":{\"htmlStrings\":{},\"searchablePlainTexts\":{\"title\":\"Quick links\",\"items[0].title\":\"@{variables('TileTitle')}\",\"items[1].title\":\"@{variables('TileTitle2')}\"},\"imageSources\":{\"items[0].rawPreviewImageUrl\":\"\"},\"links\":{\"baseUrl\":\"\",\"items[0].sourceItem.url\":\"@{variables('TileUrl')}\",\"items[1].sourceItem.url\":\"@{variables('TileUrl2')}\"},\"componentDependencies\":{\"layoutComponentId\":\"706e33c8-af37-4e7b-9d22-6e5694d92a6f\"},\"customMetadata\":{\"items[0].rawPreviewImageUrl\":{\"fixedWidth\":100,\"minCanvasWidth\":32767}}},\"dataVersion\":\"2.2\",\"properties\":{\"items\":[{\"sourceItem\":{\"itemType\":2,\"fileExtension\":\"\",\"progId\":\"\"},\"thumbnailType\":3,\"id\":2,\"description\":\"\",\"altText\":\"\",\"rawPreviewImageMinCanvasWidth\":32767},{\"sourceItem\":{\"itemType\":2,\"fileExtension\":\"\",\"progId\":\"\"},\"thumbnailType\":3,\"id\":1,\"description\":\"\",\"altText\":\"\",\"rawPreviewImageMinCanvasWidth\":32767}],\"isMigrated\":true,\"layoutId\":\"List\",\"shouldShowThumbnail\":true,\"hideWebPartWhenEmpty\":true,\"dataProviderId\":\"QuickLinks\",\"listLayoutOptions\":{\"showDescription\":false,\"showIcon\":true},\"imageWidth\":100,\"buttonLayoutOptions\":{\"showDescription\":false,\"buttonTreatment\":2,\"iconPositionType\":2,\"textAlignmentVertical\":2,\"textAlignmentHorizontal\":2,\"linesOfText\":2},\"waffleLayoutOptions\":{\"iconSize\":1,\"onlyShowThumbnail\":false},\"webId\":\"@{variables('webId')}\",\"siteId\":\"@{variables('SiteId')}\"}}},{\"id\":\"emptySection\",\"position\":{\"zoneIndex\":1,\"sectionIndex\":2,\"controlIndex\":1,\"sectionFactor\":4},\"addedFromPersistedData\":true},{\"controlType\":0,\"pageSettingsSlice\":{\"isDefaultDescription\":true,\"isDefaultThumbnail\":true,\"isSpellCheckEnabled\":true}}]",

Below is an example how you can automate the checking out and publishing of the page.
Hi @Anonymous,
That would be possible via a POST request with the SavePage or SavePageAsDraft method. However, to be able to do that you would also need to identify the ids of the page, the sections, the web parts, the site, etc. And the json can also be pretty extensive.
If you want to find an example of the JSON you can always reproduce the steps of adding a tile and saving a page in your browser with Developer toolbar and find the SavePage request in the Network tab and look at the JSON used over there.
Just to give you an idea, below is an example of how part of the automation could work.
In this setup I have not automated the checkout and publishing of the page. For those steps you would need separate HTTP requests in your flow.
{"__metadata":{"type":"SP.Publishing.SitePage"},
"CanvasContent1":"[{\"controlType\":3,\"webPartId\":\"c70391ea-0b10-4ee9-b2b4-006d3fcad0cd\",\"position\":{\"zoneIndex\":1,\"sectionIndex\":1,\"controlIndex\":1,\"sectionFactor\":8},\"id\":\"5f80a41e-a354-4bdf-9b21-42539ba00d98\",\"addedFromPersistedData\":true,\"reservedHeight\":127,\"reservedWidth\":776,\"webPartData\":{\"id\":\"c70391ea-0b10-4ee9-b2b4-006d3fcad0cd\",\"instanceId\":\"5f80a41e-a354-4bdf-9b21-42539ba00d98\",\"title\":\"Quick links\",\"audiences\":[],\"serverProcessedContent\":{\"htmlStrings\":{},\"searchablePlainTexts\":{\"title\":\"Quick links\",\"items[0].title\":\"@{variables('TileTitle')}\"},\"imageSources\":{\"items[0].rawPreviewImageUrl\":\"\"},\"links\":{\"baseUrl\":\"\",\"items[0].sourceItem.url\":\"@{variables('TileUrl')}\"},\"componentDependencies\":{\"layoutComponentId\":\"706e33c8-af37-4e7b-9d22-6e5694d92a6f\"},\"customMetadata\":{\"items[0].rawPreviewImageUrl\":{\"fixedWidth\":100}}},\"dataVersion\":\"2.2\",\"properties\":{\"items\":[{\"sourceItem\":{\"itemType\":2,\"fileExtension\":\"\",\"progId\":\"\"},\"thumbnailType\":3,\"id\":1,\"description\":\"\",\"altText\":\"\"}],\"isMigrated\":true,\"layoutId\":\"List\",\"shouldShowThumbnail\":true,\"hideWebPartWhenEmpty\":true,\"dataProviderId\":\"QuickLinks\",\"listLayoutOptions\":{\"showDescription\":false,\"showIcon\":true},\"imageWidth\":100,\"buttonLayoutOptions\":{\"showDescription\":false,\"buttonTreatment\":2,\"iconPositionType\":2,\"textAlignmentVertical\":2,\"textAlignmentHorizontal\":2,\"linesOfText\":2},\"waffleLayoutOptions\":{\"iconSize\":1,\"onlyShowThumbnail\":false},\"webId\":\"@{variables('webId')}\",\"siteId\":\"@{variables('SiteId')}\"}}},{\"id\":\"emptySection\",\"position\":{\"zoneIndex\":1,\"sectionIndex\":2,\"controlIndex\":1,\"sectionFactor\":4}},{\"controlType\":0,\"pageSettingsSlice\":{\"isDefaultDescription\":true,\"isDefaultThumbnail\":true,\"isSpellCheckEnabled\":true}}]","PageRenderingState":{"canvasState":{"selection":{"control":{"type":3,"id":"5f80a41e-a354-4bdf-9b21-42539ba00d98"},"zoneIndex":1}}},"BannerImageUrl":"","Title":"Home"}

I open the page in edit mode before I run the flow with the SavePage method.

Thank you for helping me, I managed to create a tile. Unfortunately I still have a few questions wich I hope you can help me with.
The questions will be summed up underneath:

Below is an example how you can automate the checking out and publishing of the page.
This is extremely useful. Any idea how to extract IDs from the page, sections and web parts? Is it possible to extract those informaton from Power Automate? I am trying to automate adding a text web part to existing pages when they get moved to another site.
Hey @Expiscornovus,
I'm pretty new to the Power Automate Universe but I got a (in my Opinion) similar task. Is it possible to renew a link from the SP Webpart "file viewer" within a flow? I already managed it to extract the Etags and the Path of the new Documents. But working with the CanvasContent1 is overwhelming me.
Can u help a PowerAutoGuy?
Hi @PowerAutoGuy1,
Yes, I could help out with this. It is pretty similar 😃
However, can you still post this in a separate thread with a screenshot of your current flow setup? This way I (or somebody else on the forum) can help you out with your specific scenario.
@Expiscornovus Hi, I would need your help.
Can you please guide me how to update/add quick link in existing quick link webpart on specific SharePoint site page? Considering SharePoint site page may have many components and within a quick link 2-3 links already available.
Thank you!
Hi, Im new to sharepoint and Power Automate, im facing the same thing can you explain bit more about the flow. so it can help me to do that work.
Hi @Expiscornovus @__Bansari @AllwinA @PowerAutoGuy1 @Terriyaki-Admin Could you please help me to get the json format of the modern sharepoint pages. Where Could I get it. Thanks in advance
