Comparing Two Array's

Hello all,

I have been working on this flow for a while now to no success. What I am looking to do is get all members of an Azure group using the Entra "get group" action, append the of the users to an array, then list all rows in an Excel sheet, and take a specific column that contains users UPN's and then compare the two.

The issue I am having currently is when trying to append the Entra group members UPN's to my array variable, what is being returned is []. It seems I am unable to filter out the UPN's into an array.

My flow looks as follows:

This is how you would find Emails/User Principal Names that existed in your Excel Table that didn't exist in the Group.

For this example I have an Excel Table that contains the following Emails.

grantjenkins_0-1698732136743.png

And the Group contains only the first three of those users (doesn't include Bill Smith).

See full flow below. I'll go into each of the actions.

grantjenkins_3-1698732247935.png

List group members retrieves the group members.

grantjenkins_4-1698732274518.png

Select extracts out all the User Principal Names into a simple array.

List rows present in a table retrieves our Excel data.

Filter array checks to see if the list of group members (using our Select) does not contain the email in Excel. This will give us a list of all the Excel rows that are not in the group membership.

grantjenkins_8-1698732514594.png

If we ran our flow, we would get the following output from the Filter array.

grantjenkins_9-1698732561789.png

If you wanted to find all users that are in group members, but not in the Excel Table, you could just swap the stuff around (get the list of emails from Excel in a simple array and check if that array does not contain the user principal name in the group membership - opposite of what we are doing above).

Hi @DH2023 ,

Were there outputs from the Get group members action? Actually, you can use below method to get all group members' UPN more easily:

vjefferni_0-1698722357338.png

item()?['userPrincipalName']

Same steps to get UPNs from Excel table.

Hello,

Yes. There is an Output from the get group members step but it seems I am unable to filter it properly.

In your example, Am I using the array of users that are members of the group in the from field? Doing so results in a use a valid Json error.

Thank you,
