Condition - Send Email after 45 days

Hello~

I am creating a recurring flow that checks the new hires' start date from a list, sending out an email once it has been 45 days since the start date. Here's a quick overview of the flow:

Under the 'Apply to each' I have it set up as so:

And the condition:

The problem I'm having is that the test item on the list has a start date of 09/10, 45 days ago, but the input comes out as 'false'. I've tried this with other dates, and it also comes out 'false'. The only time it is 'true' is if I select, less than or equal to. 

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

The New Hire date will include both a date and time. So it will never equal the UTCNow() you are using on the other side that doesn't include a time component after you format the output.

The fix is to use a FormatDate() function on the NewHire date/time to get it into the same date format as the UTCNow calculation you are using on the right side.

The problem has to do with the format and how it is compared.

What kind of column is the New Hire Start Date? Is it a single line text/string type column that just has 09/10/2023? Or is the column type a datetime with date only?

Put a Compose step above the condition, and put the New Hire Start Date dynamic content into it. Run the flow and see what the outputs looks like.

It would be helpful to see a screenshot of that output.

You need the output of New Hire Start Date to match your addDays() expression string.

Instead of addDays(utcNow(),45,'MM/dd/yyyy') you should try addDays(utcNow(),-45,'yyyy-MM-dd')

If your dates are in the string format "MM/dd/yyyy" power automate will not recognize that as datetime values that can be compared.

The column is a date-only type.

I added the compose step:

Since its a Date only column you won't have to add the formatDate() to it. Just change the format of the AddDays to 'yyyy-MM-dd' and it should work. But as I said in the first response the format of both sides has to match. Making that change will fix it since a time component isn't involved.

If the new hire date is 2023-09-10 which is before utcNow(), you need to add negative days in order to subtract days.

addDays(utcNow(),-45,'yyyy-MM-dd') - will subtract 45 days from current date

addDays(utcNow(),45,'yyyy-MM-dd') - will add 45 days to current date

Sorry I misunderstood and left the negative part out with my other response.
