Convert time zone action error using expand query fields

I've been getting a weird and vague error when attempting to use the built in 'Convert time zone' action:

The context: Our system has several entities for the purpose of planning and tracking department travel. As part of that, there’s a process to generate the travel time duration for each trip. The duration calculation doesn’t work across time zones so I’ve been attempting to build a flow to remedy that.

On the state entity (table) I’ve added a new field (column) that captures the each state’s time zone; from the flow I use the ‘Expand Query’ field of the ‘Get a row by ID’ Dataverse action to retrieve the timezones from the related states:

This all works fine and I’m able to see and use the expand query fields in dynamic values for new actions. After extensive testing, it seems the error occurs when I try to use both of the expand query fields with the convert time zone action:

If I just pull the values from any text field on the primary entity or even type the value of the destination time zone (i.e. Mountain Standard Time) the flow works fine but the expand query fields don’t work in the convert action. I’ve tried adding the dynamic expand query values to a variable then passing the variable in to the conversion but I get the same error:

Anyone encountered this or have any ideas what’s happening?

Based on your description, I have made a simple test.

The reason for the problem is that the values of your time zone column are different from the default text value of the optional time zone in “Convert time zone” action.

So, you could create a text field in Dataverse table, and make sure all values are same as the default text value of time zone in “Convert time zone” action.

The timezone values saved in the text fields on the State entity were initially populated as you suggest; I copied the values from the code view of each selection. In the case of the error, '(UTC-07:00) Mountain Time (US & Canada)' is input as "Mountain Standard Time" in the action (and is saved as such on our dataverse State entity/table):

This is why the error is particularly confusing as the value it flags as invalid is the same one the action's selection uses.

According to my test, I am sure that "Mountain Standard Time" is also OK. So I suggest you check whether Text "Mountain Standard Time" in the Dataverse table is correct, such as whether there is any extra space.
