Copy and Paste Disabled... because "doesn't match the current flow schema"

Good afternoon Power Automate Community!

I have three branches in a flow. I need to edit a number of actions in each branch (found a better way to do something).

Copy and paste is now disabled for all three branches of this flow. You can try to copy an action, but the action is now dimmed out and you can't paste it. There is an ! in a circle that you can click on for an explanation, which says, "The action you're trying to copy and paste doesn't match the current flow schema. Please add this action manually."

What causes the "not match the current flow schema"? What does that even mean? What can I do to re-enable the copy and paste in this flow for the rest of my editing process?

What I did right before the problem first appeared:
After editing the first branch on the left of the three branches, I decided that I wanted to swap the middle and the right branches. I didn't see any handles to drag them into the different positions that I wanted, so...

I copied the right branch and pasted it above the middle branch. I copied the middle branch and copied it above the right branch. Then I deleted the "out of order" parts. I was happy.

Then, I discovered the problem. of no longer being able to use copy and paste.

While I can live with them "out of order" there's no <ctrl>-z or way to go back to what they were before, so that copy and paste works again. What can I do to re-enable the copy and paste?

Hi @SLAwriter ,

The Error is likely because the flow configuration went into a bad state after performing the branch swaps and performing the copy now will break the flow (due to previous references). Please note that The copy To Clipboard is only a Preview and may not work in every scenarios.

As the error suggests please do add the actions manually so that it does not break the flow logic.

Thanks and Regards,

Thank you for your response, @vikulkar !

However, I understood that before making my post.

My question was how to fix the copy and paste so that it will work again?

I am able to enter a new action manually, without copy and paste. However, this is a large (well, for me) flow and fairly complex. I expect to live with it for years to come. To not have copy and paste available to make changes, or to expand, is a significant problem. That's why I want to fix this issue, not just work around it by doing it manually. The point of copy and paste is to relieve you of having to do it manually.

Is there another channel I should post this in to get help in fixing this?

Hi,

This isn't a solution but I am getting the same thing because for some reason, the 'Common Data Service (current environment)' which I am starting to build the Flow with somehow disconnects and is no longer available within the Flow.

I am now going to try to rebuild the whole Flow (complex with multiple branches as well) in hopes my copy and paste of the actions doesn't make the current environment CDS disappear.

Wonder if yours was the same issue and if it ever got resolved?

All: I found that when I changed answer types in my Microsoft Form that is linked to my Power Automate Flow, It threw this error. So if you have a linked process and edit it, it could cause Power Automate to throw this error. Hope this helps,

I had the same error for action "Update Item" for sharepoint. I just changed the name of the action for Update Item L1 and copied agaid and it worked! do not know why but now I can copy and paste it

I get around this by creating a new Scope and dragging in the action(s) that I want to duplicate.  I can then Copy the Scope to Clipboard, and Paste wherever I need and drag the actions(s) out (or leave them if there are multiple).  The original and copied scopes can be deleted if they are empty.
