Hi Power users,
I'm kind of struggling with copying metadata values from a multiselect column to a new column with also multi select (in a document library).
For example possible values that can be selected for the metadata: A,B,C,D
And I want to copy and paste those values into the new multi select metadata column.
In my current config, it will only update the last value that was looped through (which kind of makes sense when reading the code).
It also displays it in some weird format and not clear text.
Current config:
"Software Name" and "Hardware model" being to 2 multi select metadata columns which can contain multiple values which I want all to be set to the new file.
Output after running my config is this. It only sets the column to the last item which it looped through, and displays in wrong format:
Anyone any clue how to work around this issue to copy and paste all the multi select values?
Thanks!
Nicolai

Hi @NicolaiS ,
Have you switch the input to Array?

Hi @NicolaiS ,
Could you please share a full screenshot of the configuration of your flow?
You shouldn't add the Apply to each outside the "Update file properties" action, please refer to my screenshot below to create the flow:

Hi Alice,
Thanks for your response. I made a screenshot of my full config with arrows to indicate where my variables come from. Hope it's a bit clear to you... If the image below is too small, check: https://imgur.com/a/VyB0m8f
Hi @NicolaiS ,
Please Delete the Apply to each 3 and Apply to each 4 in your flow:

Well, I removed the 2 "Apply to each'. However, as soon as I fill in the Dynamic variable for Hardware Model and Software Name in the "Update file properties" , it automatically puts the "Apply to each" back...
Hi Yashag2255,
Thanks for your response. I initially tried to work with a Array variable as a workaround for this issue.
Initialized an Array variable, for each value in the column, added that value to the array.
Here I ran into the problem where I wasn't able to use that Array Variable to pass on as dynamic content for the "update file properties"... Didn't appear in the list...
Hi @NicolaiS
In the update file properties action, on the item that you want to pass the multi option array, click the 'T' button on the right side to switch input as an array and then pass the array.
Hope this Helps!

I did indeed refer to your screenshot.
Just tried to do it again, but as soon as I fill in the "Software name value" and "Hardware name value" dynamic content, it automatically adds a for each container:
Based on the output parameters you selected, we've added a for each container for you. For each enables you to perform actions for each individual item in a set of values
I have no idea how you can fill in that variable without it automatically adding for each containers... I used to same variable references as you did in your screenshot...

Ah I must've overseen those indication.
Let me try again...
@v-alzhan-msft works like a charm now! Thanks!
@yashag2255 also using the Array did work with the help of your latest post. Did not know I had to click that "T" button. Thanks!
Thanks to both for the help!
Kind regards,
Nicolai
