Copying Rows From an Excel file to another

There is a workbook(wbA hereafter) with multiple tables spread across the sheets. There is another workbook(wbB hereafter) which has identical tables with wbA as in names.
I want to extract the rows marked as 2024(to be put in the trigger input) in the 'FY' columns in all tables from the wbA, then copy those to the wbB in the same table.
With the tables for each wb having to be dynamic, I managed to get to the attached flow but cannot afford to think what is appropriate for the 'row' field in the 'add a row' connector.
With the suspecion that I may have been wrong from the 1st step, could someone lead me the way to solution?Flow 1.jpgimage.pngimage.png

Thanks and it works on my end as well.

My problem is that I have multiple tables on each workbook.. so the table name in the connector needs to be dynamic.

values in table1 on wbA - added to table1 on wbB

values in table2 on wbA - added to table2 on wbB

values in table3 on wbA - added to table3 on wbB

and so on.

I would like to do this in one flow. and I think the table name inthe connector 'add a row into table' shall be fetched from the source workbook (wbA).

Hope my questions makes sense.

Thanks,

That's exactly how my above example works. Like I say above, the only thing you need to know are the table names and that they each have the same tables already.

For the table name field in the "List rows" and the "Add a row" actions I use the same dynamic value, which is "Name" from the "Get tables" action:

In your "Add a row into a table" action you should select the desired table and your rows will show up.

If the table is created dynamically in the flow, type the table name and fill in row using the following syntax:

{
   "Row1 Name":"Row Value",
   "Row2 Name":"Row Value",
   etc...
}

Thanks @AlexMCC .

However, I would like to add rows to the table in the wbB that is identically named with values from original workbook (wbA).

I the figure above, if I add rows with '2025' in the 'FY' column for 'wbA', I want that row(s) in the table with the same table name in wbB. Furthermore there are multiple tables in each workbook and I'd like to copy values in the same fashion for all tables...

Hi @KenJapan

Sorry, I might have misunderstood the full context of your question.

See if this helps.

I've set up two workbooks "WorkBookA" and "WorkBookB" and given them the same table "Table1" but with different rows.

Screenshot 2023-02-03 at 08.48.24.png

Now to copy from one to another, knowing only the workbook names and expecting that they have identical tables, I set up the following flow:

Screenshot 2023-02-03 at 09.15.16.png

The key here is the use of nested Apply Each loops. One for each table and one for each row.

The syntax for the rows is as I typed in my reply above.

The formula for the items is like so:

items('Apply_to_each_row')?['FY']

Changed of course, for each row name.

Let me know if this helps you solve the issue.

I tested on my end and get the expected result of merging the 2024 rows into WorkBookB.

@AlexMCC , finally got it working! I had to put an expression to specify the table instead of a dynamic content in th e 'add a a row into table'.

Thank you so much for your support!!!!

Is there a way to have a condition before 'add a row into table' action?

I would like duplicate items in the 'Item & Description" column filtered out.

Appreciate your support.

Sorry, perhaps I should be more clear.

Before copying a row to the new book, I would like to check if there is already a record with the same item name and year 2024.

If there is, update the row and if not, create a new row. Thanks!
