Create and update calendar event in Outlook from Excel spreadsheet

I need to create a flow which creates and updates calendar events in Outlook from an Excel spreadsheet.  I found a solution here (https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Flows/Update-Events-in-Calendar-When-Excel-is-Updated/m...), however, I keep getting errors.  I believe my issue is with the condition.  I can't replicate the condition in the above solution.  I can't build the expression as suggested and I'm not sure what choice to make for EventID in the middle drop down  and the value to enter for the 3rd field.  Here's a screen

I'm probably being to vague, hope not.  I can provide additional info. if needed.

Hi @Mike44 ,

Can you please:

1) Take a screenshot of the top part of your flow to show your loop

2) Add a Compose action before your condition

3) Add EventID into the Compose as an input

4) Click on ... and Peek Code and paste the value.  Should look like the below

Hi @Mike44 ,

The flow is looping through each Event ID from the spreadsheet and checking if it is empty or not.

You can use the empty() expression on the left and then true on the right e.g.

empty(items('Apply_to_each')?['YOUR COLUMN NAME'])

Also, unrelated to your question but is your condition inside a Apply to each loop?

This was a interesting approach i am having issue with the same thing but in my case it works but it creates multiple event of the same contantly looping even though its a manual trigger, I just want it to creat an event if it doesn't exist in the calendar or update if it does, not to create multiple events as the same time below is my structure

While I'm no expert when it comes to Power Automate; nowhere close, it seems to me that there is no condition that checks to see if the event has already been created.  You'll need to add an EventID column in your spreadsheet and add the EventID each time a new event is created, then in Power Automate check to see if the that column has an ID or is empty.  Try replicating my flow to your situation or, if you haven't already done so, post your question.  I'm sure someone here will be able to help better than I'm able.

Hi

the title was meant to represent the ID in regards to unique value to search from, the test excel i used i can create and update but the problem is the looping that it creates multiple event of the same thing but i know there are many ways to approach such things, i did post my question are you able to understand the guide i was given because i am not too sure below is the link

Hi, I am following your steps but got lost on Key Value = Index on the last screenshot.

Also, can you specify exactly what you put in "Compose" (not code view) and the formula in the condition?

Thanks!

Hi, in the screenshot for the apply to each - what was the function starting 'empty'? thanks
