Create item in SharePoint announcement list

Hi! I would like to create an announcement in a SharePoint site each time a file is created in a document library in SharePoint. Is it not possible to work with SharePoint announcement lists in Flow?

Hi @pezlin,

Yes, it is possible to work with Announcement List with Microsoft Flow.

According the scenario you described, I tested the flow as the screenshot below.

Things to note here:
When add the SharePoint -> Create Item Action, the Announcement List is not listed as a dropdown value, here we need to select the Enter custom Value, for the List Name field, then enter the corresponding Announcement list name.

Hyperlinks in an automated SharePoint Announcement entry

Wonder if anyone else has come across this issue?

When creating a SharePoint Announcement via a Power App calling on Power Automate, we need to enter an URL for any hyperlink, then also have an additional field to enter an edited URL Description (i.e. so it looks slightly more human than just an https:// string).

Using the "Create item" method, we can enter the URL, but not the Description:

If the Description is edited "after the event", we end up generating two notifications to our Users.

Using the "Send http" method, we can post all the details we need - including the URL and the URL Description:

but, we cannot post rich text into the Body of the Announcement...!

If anyone has found a way of using Power Automate to add a hyperlink, and a hyperlink description, and rich text to the body of a SharePoint Announcement, all in one go, without having to just do it all in SharePoint instead, would be very interested to hear!
