Creating Folders within Folders via Automate

Hi,

I'm trying to utilise MS Forms to create job folders automatically without the need to manually copy a template folder.

I have built the below flow which creates the main folder correctly based off the form input and then creates the folders within this correctly. But within the folder named "Submission" I need 2 more folders named "Quality" & "Commercial". I can't figure out how to do this, I tried using another Apply to each function underneath the previous but this just remade the folders again within submission, not the ones I've listed within the Sub Folder variable.

Results here:

As mentioned I need to add 2 more sub folders within the "Submission" folder.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @DylanB02,

Documents and Shared Documents are the same location, like mentioned in my earlier reply.

It is the difference between a displayName and what Microsoft use in the path. You can also see that in your browser address bar.

And when you select a folder you should still see the name of the Library in the path of the Limit entries to Folder field. That's why I have reason to believe you have selected a different location.

See an example below of my Bid Writing folder selection to demonstrate a similar setup.

Thanks, apologies I did reply regarding Documents & Shared Docs before I seen your explanation for this.

See below, to me this matches the test setup you have just done so I'm not sure what the issue is?

Hi @DylanB02,

Yes, now that path for the Limit Entries to Folder seems correct. But it still does not return any items in the value property of the outputs section of the Get files (properties only) action?

How many files are in your Documents library? By any chance it is more than 5000 items? In that case you might want to have a look at the pagination settings as well:

Yeah, so the Value is still showing as [] after I ran it.

As for the limit - it is well over 5000, that seems to only matter though if you are trying to move that amount of items, in the folder I want to move there is only 5 docs I'm trying to move.

Hi @DylanB02,

Can you enable pagination (with for example 100000) and try again?

Hi @DylanB02,

Sorry forgot about my own environment setup 😅. In my environment it was allowed to use the 100000. However, there are certain scenarios where this is not allowed.

https://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/305564/power-automate-pagination-limit-is-not-working

In that case try 5000 value instead per page.

No problem haha, I also seen you need to have a paid Power Automate licence to enable anything above 5000 pagination.

I have added this, it took around 2mins 30 secs to complete which was a lot longer than before, presuming there's nothing I can do to shorten this.

But it worked!!

There is a further step to this which I'm not even sure it's possible so don't want to carry on mithering you as I know you have spent a lot of time helping with this. Could possibly move to DM's if you don't mind so I can mark this as accepted?

Thanks
