Delay an email by 30 days from date entered on trigger form

Hello!

I am building a workflow to automate the employee exit process at my company.  I have the workflow working well. The trigger for the flow is a form that is input with the exit date of the employee. I am looking now to add an email that goes out 30 days from that exit date entered on the form (may not be the date the form was completed). Do you have any advice on how I can format the email to delay until 30 days from a specific date on a form?

@ljeffries Would it be possible to store the form results in a SP list and have a flow run daily to check the list for items that match? Not sure if adding a 30 day delay to a flow is ideal.

I hadn't thought of that. Is there a way for the SP list to calculate 30 days from a date on the list and take action accordingly?

What if I did a calendar event instead? In that case, I am struggling with formatting the date. I just want it to be a reminder on the day 30 days from the date on the form, no specific time of day. This is what I entered which of course didn't work:

For the formulas what I did was expression Adddays(then I selected dynamic content, the date on the form that was entered as the exit date), 30)

@ljeffries Sorry I think I missed your post on Monday. If you stored the form results in a SP list you could have a separate flow run to check it daily and you could use Power Automate to check if today is 30 days from the date listed in your SP list. 

Even if you were to create a calendar event you would still need a separate flow to run a check. In my opinion, storing the results in a SP list would be more efficient.

I dont really know where to start. If I create a separate workflow with the same exact trigger, both run at the same time?

@ljeffries There wouldn't be a point to create two flows with the same trigger. What i was suggesting is creating a flow with a scheduled trigger. One that would run once a day, week, hour (whichever suits your requirement) to run a check on the list.

how would i get the list to be created if the data for the list is being used on a separate workflow as a trigger?

You can set deferred delivery of a email by setting a MAPI property using a GRAPH request.

@ljeffries You will need to use the Get Items action to get items from your SP List. With a Filter Query you can run a check for items with a date matching the current date.
