Deleting file on Sharepoint with "Send an HTTP request to Sharepoint" Action - Status Code 404. File Not Found. \r\nclientRequestId

Hi,

I am new to this forum and still quite new to PowerAutomate, but worked with similar tools like KNIME and Alteryx before. 

In my Use Case I am trying to delete a file from a Sharepoint library that I needed to create earlier in the flow. Since the "Delete file" action does not work properly as many users experience, I tried to apply a workaround with the "Send an HTTP request to Sharepoint" action which also quite a few users applied. And apparently I am not the only one facing issues configuring that action to do what is expected. And I googled around for hours now but for some reason cannot get it to run without an error.

So the configuration is the following:

the first Compose output in there was derived with the following formula as I saw in one of the posts online that I need to cut off the first "/" of the relative URL that I am getting when selecting "body/path" fom the "Create file" action. This actually helped with an error message I was getting before so this might be already correct:

The second compose output tries to take out the special character "%20" from the URL that I always see when executing the flow. It is probably wrong but also here I tried lots of different things but nothing would work.

And this is the output:

As you can see there is always a "%20" put in instead of a space. I might need to get rid of those but not sure how to do that.

Hi @tim94 ,

The html equivalent of the space in a url is indeed "%20" therefore, you won't be able to replace it.
The fact that you try to replace "%20" by an empty space can't work because at this stage in your flow the name of your path and files haven't been converted yet 😉.

Coud you please initialize a variable then set it up with the value in the url : 

Can you then do the same again but this time without the "compose"s by placing the Output Path & DisplayName values ?

Can you send me a screenshot of those 2 variables once they ran please ?

Ok two things :

• Can you edit the Variable1 and just store the fullpath inside please ?
• Can you edit the Variable2 by adding the variable1 to _api/web/getfilebyserverrelativeurl( add your variable1 here )

Can you now replace the Url :

with the Variable2 and run a flow test please ?

I saw from other posts online that the "/" at the beginning of the relative URL is the issue here for that error message, that is why I applied the slice action before which lead to the other error message I was initially posting here.

Hi @tim94,

Within the GetFolderByServerRelativeUrl method you also need to include the (relative) site address. In your case that would be:

_api/web/GetFolderByServerRelativeUrl('/teams/PowerApps-Test@{variables('Variable1')}')
