Different list views

Hello everyone,

I have again a quite special problem, I hope I can describe it here understandably.

I have two SharePoint lists ("Reisezweck" and "Positionen").

The "ID" column of the "Reisezweck" list corresponds to several lines in the "AbrechnungsID" column of the "Positionen" list (lookup).

In Power Automate I use "Get items" to pull both lists into a filtered view.

Filter in "Reisezweck": ID eq Getitems_FilterQuery and filter in "Positionen":  AbrechnungsID eq Getitems_FilterQuery

Now I send an e-mail with Power Automate, in which I include the links to the individual, filtered list entries.

For the link to the unique entry in the list "Reisezweck" I write in the e-mail:

Picture1.jpg

For the single or multiple entries in the "Positionen" list I created a variable which then displays one or more links in the email. This all works now so far.

Picture2.jpg

Now to my actual problem. If I click on the link for the one-time entry in the "Reisezweck" list in the e-mail, I get the following view (View1):

Picture3.jpg

On the other hand, if I click on one of the links in the "Positionen" list, I get a completely different view of the list item (View2):

Picture4.jpg

Now I would like to have the same view in both cases. How can I use the information provided by "Get items" to create a variable for the links from the "Positionen" list so that I can see the view1?

I hope I was able to explain this clearly.

If you have questions, please ask 😊

Regards

Herb

Hi @Anonymous,

Can you share the output of two links (Link zu element) of your screenshots?

Normally I would expect these kind of hyperlinks for the items of both lists:

https://contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/yourlist/_layouts/15/listform.aspx?PageType=4&ListId=listid&ID=itemid&ContentTypeID=contenttypeid"

But it looks like the view of the Positionen list is a classic SharePoint display form view. Is that list hosted in a different (classic) SharePoint site?

Happy to help out! 🙂

Hi @Expiscornovus

thanks for your quick feedback.

Both lists are in the same SharePoint site (CS-Reisekostenabrechnung).

Here is the output of the list "Reisezweck":

https://contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/CS-Reisekostenabrechnung/_layouts/15/listform.aspx?PageType=4&L...

and here the output of the list "Positionen":

https://contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/CS-Reisekostenabrechnung/_layouts/15/listform.aspx?PageType=4&L...

Thanks already for your support.

Hi @Anonymous,

Those hyperlinks look ok.

Can you check what the list experience is of the Positionen list? Is that list inheriting the default experience from the site?

Hi @Expiscornovus,

Under list experience I already set "Default experience for the site".

Picture5.jpg

I changed this to "New experience" for testing purposes, but same result.

What I noticed until now:

If I click on a number in the column "AbrechnungsID" (hyperlink) in the list "Positionen", the linked line in the list "Reisezweck" opens. So far ok !

If I click on any other column in the "Positionen" list, a new window opens with all information from this row, which would be correct.

If I start my flow again, I have the same result as described above.

I should have become a beta tester at Microsoft 😉

Herb

Hi @Anonymous,

You are right. Some parts of the lookup columns interface is not full modernized yet, by the looks of it. When I click on a hyperlink in the Positionen list (I called it places), I also get a dialog with the classic experience.

A possible workaround could be to customize the list forms yourself by using Power Apps and modify the links to the Reisezweck id in the way you want to link them.

Hi @Expiscornovus,

Thank you for testing it so far and getting the same result as I did. That reassures me a little bit 😀

In a hurry, I have no idea how to create a variable with the correct link in PowerApps. How could I use PowerApps to customize the list forms themselves.
Any idea?

Hi @Anonymous,

If you take this approach you won't have to change the logic of your links within the Power Automate flow. You will just change how it will be rendered in SharePoint instead and how the links between lists interact in the views.

You can customize forms of SharePoint lists over here:

Hi @Expiscornovus

This is actually not a solution for me.
I will probably have to wait until Microsoft solves the problem.
Experience shows that hope dies last.
Thanks again for your support !
