Dynamics get Customers/Owners names instead of their ID's values

Hello,

I have created a flow that sends me daily emails about all the active Cases.

I am trying to display the Customers Names and Owners Names for each active case in an HTML table.

Capture.PNG
Unfortunately, the flow result return for all the customer's name null and the owner expression returns their id's instead of the current owner's name.

Besides, my flow is triggered on "Recurrence", so when I use a get record and compose actions where I have mapped the Full name inside an apply to each action. In the dynamic content, I was not able to find the compose action for I add it to the select action.

The expressions that I have used for Customers and Owners fields:
The customer expression returns null as I said before, and for owners it returns their id's.

Customer:

item()?['fullname']

Owner:

item()?['_ownerid_value']

Please take a look at the entire flow screenshots with results:

CaptureFlow.PNGResult.PNGResultsFlow.PNG

What I should change in my flow to display the customer's and owners' names for each active case?

Can someone please provide an example and explain in detail to achieve the following scenario?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi @Julien2

Please see below link

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Power-Automate/Create-HTML-Table-from-Array-of-Strings/t...

Initialise the array outside the loop. Add the Apply Each Loop then your earlier steps which retrieve the Get Contact details (Fullname). Then append the result like showed in the above link. When you append the result you can map other values as well (Owner ID and Title). Finally outside the loop create the HTML Table.

Thanks

Hi @Julien2

The compose action is within the for each loop loop and the select action is outside the scope of loop. What you need to do is declare a string variable at the beginning of the flow. Assign the value to this string.  Then construct all the other values in an array to append all the values.

Due to the nature of your business logic you won't be able to use the Select Filter action. The only option is construct your own array and append all the values inside the loop.

Thanks

Hello @abm ,

I have followed the steps you mentioned, but unfortunately, as a result, the Full name field of the get record action keeps returns null in the set variable action.

Besides, I didn't understand how to construct all the other values in append to array variable since the declared variable is a string.

Could you please provide an example, so I can quietly understand these steps you mentioned?

Please take a look at the screenshots below:

Hi  @Julien2

As I mentioned earlier you can't use the select action here. You need to construct your own array and append the results within the loop. Let me see whether I can provide some example for you.

Thanks

What I do was, Use a condition to compare a list of users from the account Dynamics list.

So if the condition is true just show the name

Hi @Julien2 ,

It seems that using Select cannot achieve your needs, you could refer to the following methods to achieve your needs.

Generally, we need to get the Owner's name from the user entity.

Initialize the array variables to store the data displayed in the Html table.

You could refer to this method and make adjustments based on your existing configuration.

Please take a try.

Hello @v-bacao-msft @abm

Thank you for sharing an example of the following scenario.

Currently, I have achieved to display the Owners names of each case by using the get records action from the user entity.

Unfortunately, I am still stuck in the Customer Names field, as a result, it keeps returns null, knowing that I am getting the Full name of the customers from the "Contacts" entity.

Please take a look at the screenshots below:

What I am doing wrong in the customer names field?

Looking to hear from you.
Thank you!

So, I'm making progress (I think), however, the two fields (Owner's last name from the User Record and Account Name from the Accounts record) I'm trying to get into my html email are blank.

I'm doing a LIST of opportunity records.  I am doing a GET RECORD (Account) for the Account Name and a GET RECORD (Users) for the Owner's last name.  I am getting the HTML/email just fine.  However, the LAST NAME and ACCOUNT NAME columns are blank.

Here are some snippets of my resulting html/email:

Hi

Check the run history of the Get record steps and see whether the data is showing as expected?

Thanks

The Run History shows that the Get Records (for User and for Account) are accessing the records just fine.  I see the raw data from the records.

BUT in the immediately following Compose step, the fields are showing NULL on BOTH the INPUT and OUTPUT sides

I am STUMPED!!!  I have reconfirmed the mapping and it is still displaying NULL:  The following snapshots are before I select the field and insert it into the compose.  That is the only way I could show which field I was selecting:

Hi @craigtl

Thanks for the screen share. The reason for the not showing the account details is because you were mapping the wrong account id under Get record (Account). Glad that everything is working as expected.

Thanks
