Embed iframe into 'Send an email (V2)' not working

Desired Workflow: We are using Microsoft Power Automate to send an email when an inspection is completed within iAuditor from a specific template. The data from the iAuditor inspection is extracted and placed within the subject line and body, the 'To' addresses are added by the distribution email variable then the email is sent containing the inspection information.

In the email body, I'd like to have a button, asking the reader "Do you want to escalate this incident to the leadership team?". when they click on the URL or Button, it would trigger a second flow, adding the leadership team to the email from the new flow, while pulling in the current 'To' assignees from the existing email. I'd assume this would be added like a string.

Problem: Everything is working perfectly to this point, with the exception of embedding the iframe code into the body. I was going to use a Microsoft Form or Smartsheet form, however the iframe content isn't showing up in the email.

Any recommendations?

Hi @yeamans,

Sorry, I should explain it more clear, I can see you want to embed an Excel into the Email, and I noticed the sheet is located in the SmartSheet, and you want the reader directly to an online form, so I think you may insert the Sheet into the Email directly.

Maybe I misunderstand your desire.

There is no way could embed a URL in the body of the email where they can click on it and start a Flow, as a workaround, you could create a Flow with a "When a HTTP request is received" trigger to generate an HTTP POST URL, then embed it into the Email, user could copy it and call via HTTP request:

Hi @yeamans,

It is caused by the iframes doesn't support on the Outlook, there are clients list for iframe support:

https://www.campaignmonitor.com/blog/email-marketing/2015/07/do-iframes-work-in-email/

From MS Docs:

Unsupported HTML Elements Compared with the HTML 4.01
Specification The following is a list of top-level HTML elements that the HTML 4.01 specification supports, but that Word 2007 does not support. Note that Word 2007 considers unsupported HTML elements to be unknown elements. Word 2007 does not support:
- applet
- bdo
- button
- form
- iframe
- input
- isindex
- menu
- noframes
- noscript
- object
- optgroup
- option
- param
- q
- script
- select

That document is a little out of data (HTML 4.01).

Desktop versions of Outlook 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016 all use the Word engine to render HTML. Previous versions used IE.

Hi @yeamans ,

try to use the methods mentioned here:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/10717530/how-to-display-html-button-element-in-ms-outlook-2010

Welcome to my web site.

Thank you @v-litu-msft and @VictorIvanidze for your responses. I don't think iframe is a route I can go.

Do either of you have any other recommendations? I'm thinking I'll need to use a URL to direct the reader to an online form, that would redirect to an internet browser to initiate the next flow.

Hi @yeamans,

You could use Get a row action to get the SmartSheet, then use Create HTML Table action to convert it, then insert the table into the Email:

Thank you @v-litu-msft for the suggestion. Maybe I'm not understanding your recommendation.

My desired outcome is for a person to answer a single question, that would initiate a second flow which would add our senior leadership team's email addresses to the email thread.

After this long weekend, I believe I'll have to ditch this idea and try to come up with a way to embed a URL in the body of the email where they can click on it, the contents is saved to the clipboard, then have the person paste it into the 'To' bar. If you have a way to do this, I love to hear your ideas on this.
