Hello Team,
Here is my requirement,
New to SharePoint and power automate...browsing for the scenario but I could see them with Start and wait approval process getting triggered...we need it with conditions basis. Any help is very much appreciated.
I need to create two lists as Submit and Approval with the columns as Approval status, id, attachment, category, subcategory, attachments, etc
When a submitter creates a list it needs to go to multiple approvals ...so based on the Approval Status the flow needs to get triggered.
1)Condition 1: If approval status button is approved by approver 1 and rejected by approver 2 --it's rejected --status needs to get updated with comments in submit list
2)Condition 2:If approval status button is rejected by approver 1 and rejected by approver 2 -its rejected status needs to get updated with comments in submit list
3)Condition 3:If approval status button is rejected by approver 1 --it rejected--status needs get updated with comments in submit list
4)Condition 4: If the approval status button is approved by approver 1 and approved by approver 2 --the flow does execute--status needs to get updated with comments in submit list.
Thanks in Advance.
ERROR : Unable to process template language expressions for action 'Condition' at line '0' and column '0': 'The template language function 'contains' expects its first argument 'collection' to be a dictionary (object), an array, or a string. The provided value is of type 'Null'.'.
I'm experiencing this error as well with a condition for 'is equal to'. The thing it is looking for is three words long which hasn't be an issue in the past
In my flow the step before the condition is the SharePoint when an item is created trigger- the raw out put json for this is showing a "\n" at the end of of the value where my condition is failing. I have doubled checked there is no trailing space in the input to the SharePoint so have no idea how to remove this /n that seems to be appearing on its own - and seems to be what is causing the problem. Would appreciate any help
I am experiencing this same issue with a workflow that ran successfully in the past and have failed all of a sudden.
Failures appeared to have occurred on February 4 at 8:47pm.
This happened with my flow yesterday too - very sporadic though, as it started working again a few minutes later
Same problem for me, was working 24 hours ago and today i have several flows all failing beacuse of this.
It's a Yes/No condition, if field contains **** (string) then yes, otherwise no. when the field is empty it is reporting it as null and failing
i also have that problem recently. condition = if X is not equal to Y & Z=word . if word is empty it reports as a null and fails instead of what I would expect and send down the no tree. recent as well, other than the 26 failures it still works as expected.
I found a workaround for my problem, i only had 4 possible field values, other than empty. I added 4 separate controls, 1 for each possible value and used:
If (fieldname) equals (value1) then Yes, otherwise No
If (fieldname) equals (value2) then Yes, otherwise No
etc.
It added a few more steps which I had to repeat for each control but it did the job for me,
Having a similar error.
Trying to create a flow where a work item is created in my team specific backlog... kicked off automatically when two conditions take place:
Conditional statement is as follows:
The condition works when the "tags" condition is removed from the and statement.
I am facing same issue and the condition control has stopped working suddenly. Is there a fix yet?
Bombarded with junk mail from a source that keeps changing but contains some common elements (e.g. from xyz@####ourshop###.com) I set up a flow to delete all such junk mail. Worked fine for 6 months, now occasionally fails (about 20% of times). Error message gives the template issue others reported here.
Have attempted some of the suggestions in this thread, but very sorry not to see Microsoft addressing our complaints.
Was facing the same problem but the error was appearing when checking if a number is greater than (Error wording: The template language function 'greater' expects two parameter of matching types. The function was invoked with values of type 'String' and 'Integer' that do not match.')
The flow worked fine for some time before. I figured out that it was still working, just erroring out at one specific line item, so I checked the outputs. Turns out, a division in a previous step was returning a string output with a space at the end, like "1806 " (Counting days from last modified date). Previous runs also were returning strings, but like "1806" so no space, therefore the flow figured out that it was supposed to be a number.
I first wrapped the expression in Days from Modified step in int() but the same thing happened, so tried doing that in the condition step and it works ok.
(I left everything in int() just in case)
I still don't get how a division can return a string with a space at the end or why wrapping the calculation in the int() didn't work.
Just posting in case someone is having the same issue 🙂
