Error: "The template language function 'length' expects its parameter to be an array or a string. The provided value is of type 'Null'"

I am getting an error message regarding the above, similar to previously posted questions however the solutions offered have not helped
Below is my current flow which looks for new Sharepoint list entries, searches for the created by field and gets the person's email address, to then send them a Team chat and email to alert them of new entry. Appreciate any assistance to correct this issue.

What value exactly are you using inside the length function?  The error is because that value is null.  It needs to be either a string or an array for length to work.  you can use a Coalesce around the value inside the length to make sure its a value that will work if the main value is null.  But usually this is an issue because you are inputting the wrong value.

I had read a previous response that said to use this: 

length(outputs('Get_user_profile_(V2)')?['body/value'])

I'm still newish to Flows so not sure I fully understand some of the language used in these type of equations but I assume using length over 1 means its looking for anythign in the field at all?

I get user profile action will return a single profile as an object, not an array or a string. So it can't be used with the length function.  It should either be an object or null (if there is no matching user profile). So I would set the condition to check if the value is null.

Could you please help provide the code that should be used? I'm not sure I understand what you're suggesting.

For context when I first built it without the Condition, I was getting the error "No user details with email or UPN '<name>' were found in Graph." I found online in this forum the solution to add in the Condition step but am now faced with the above issue.

I tried this and whilst it got to the next step (post message...) it failed and has gone back to my original issue of "No user details with email or UPN 'Graham79' were found in Graph."
I just cannot work out why this flow of sending a message will not work as I have other flows for different sharepoint lists that seem to work fine, although these work from the Created By field. In this scenario I want it to use a specific field that is a name selection field (all of which are spelled correctly and all users within the organisation)

Graham78 is an account name, not an email or User Principal Name. That's the issue. It should be something like Graham79@domain.com. You can't search for it based on an account name.

So the solution I have found for anyone else who may have similar issues:
I updated the field on the Sharepoint List to be Person where the user must type in the user name they are sending a request to (auto fills form Office 365/Outlook, previous I had a selection name list)
I created a new flow this time using Search For Users and the Display Name dynamic content from the above Sharepoint field.
Then Get user profile v2 using the <sharepoint field name> email dynamic content.
I then used Search For User Email as the Teams message Recipient and thr To field for sending an email.
