Error when open Pdf file

Hi all,

In Power Automate I have created a process to send a Power BI Report attached to an email. This report is generated in pdf format. I show you the schema developed in Power Automate:

The process works fine except when I receive the email and try to open the pdf file. It looks like the file is empty or corrupted. Does anyone know what is going on? Should I add another step or modify some parameter in the Power Automate process?

Hi,

I have checked that if I remove "base64" from "Send email (Preview)" json I can open the pdf file but pages are blank:

  "emailMessage/attachments": [

        {

          "name": "test.pdf",

          "contentBytesBase64": "@{base64(body('Export_To_File_for_Paginated_Reports'))}"

        }

Any ideas of what am I missing?

Sometimes PA does the processing/encryption to base64 file formats. You might be able to see this in your flow run history if you track the Base64 string, it changes between actions. To make sure you get the base64 string into your JSON, try:

"contentBytesBase64": "base64tostring(@{base64(body('Export_To_File_for_Paginated_Reports'))})"

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, I have tried that but it returns an error message as an invalid expression.

Just put the "base64(body('Export_To_File_for_Paginated_Reports'))" within a base64tostring function. If that does not work, its something else.

Hi,

I am dealing again with this flow. The previous version worked well with the Send Email (Preview) connector for Azure Communication Services but now is deprecated. The current version doesn't work again because it also looks like the pdf file is wrapped twice in Base64. I have been trying to attach the pdf file generated from Paginated Report but the flow doesnt work and returns an error message. Does anyone know how to solve this error? There is any other way to send an email with the attached pdf file?
