Excel Business Online issue

Hi All,

I'm facing one issue while getting data out of Excel Online - "List all rows present in excel". I have 3 columns from excel which are coming out to be null but instead they do have values present with those particular columns. You can even see the values in the output of Excel Online -

I'm trying to get the values of these columns into compose but it's showing empty or null.

int(outputs('Compose')) - using this to convert the value to integer.

Output of Compose is showing as null.

Can anyone please help me with this issue?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Rushil ,

Could you please tell me:

Are you trying to convert floating point numbers in Excel columns to integers?

According to your first screenshot, the problem occurs because the data in the Excel column is a float and not an integer.

The function Int does not recognize the string version of floating point numbers.

I suggest you use the float function to convert a string version for a floating-point number to an actual floating point number , and then use formatNumber to round it to an integer.

I have made a test for your reference:

formatNumber(float(items('Apply_to_each')?['Column3']),'N0')

I think this link will help you a lot:

Hi @v-liwei-msft ,

I really appreciate that you took out time for me.

I tried wat you suggested but the flow got failed showing the below error:

Rushil_0-1661272815847.png

Also, I have other columns in the excel with float value and I am able to directly get the value out of them. But I'm not sure why these 3 columns are behaving weirdly.

Blue Ticks: Working fine

Red Cross: showing null values but can see values in excel online action's output (attached in the question I posted)

Do you have any other thoughts what I'm missing or doing wrong?

Thanks again 🙂

Hi @Rushil ,

Could you please provide me the full formula for the error and a screenshot of the return value of your List rows present in a table?

Very grateful!!!

Best Regards,

Levi

Hi @v-liwei-msft ,

Here is the Output from List rows present in the table. You can see the value as highlighted which I'm trying to fetch.

This is the compose part.

This is the error message that is coming upon running. It is considering the column value as null

Thanks for looking.

Hi @Rushil ,

Could you please tell me:

Whether the column you want to get has null values?

I'm sorry, I tried to reproduce the problem you encountered, when the column is not empty and is a number, using float and FormatNumber does not give an error.

If you have new progress, please contact me in time, thank you!!!

Best Regards,

Levi

Hi @v-liwei-msft ,

The columns have float data type values and are not null.

I haven't got any work around till now and still stuck with this issue 😞

I have tried creating new flow and also by deleting the excel and recreating the excel. But could find the solution till now.

Thanks

Hi @Rushil

May I ask if there is only one row in the table, or the field in each row is not empty!

I'm sorry that I tried to reproduce your problem many times, but no error occurred.

Best Regards,

Levi

Hi @v-liwei-msft ,

There is only 1 data row as of now in the table.

Thanks for trying to help me out. If you want and have time we can connect over call whenever you have time. I would really appreciate that.

Thanks.
