File Attachments will not open - help!

I'm new to Power Automate and creating flows but I was able to successfully create a flow that when a user completes a Form and includes attachments, a record is created in a SharePoint list.  The record includes the attachments and up until last week, we were able to open the attachments from the SharePoint list.  I am not aware of any changes taking place with my flows or the location the files are stored but I don't have control over updates pushed through from our Corporate IT team.  Anyone else have this issue or have any suggestions?  I've been googling and searching to no avail.

Below is an image of what now appears when those with access to the SharePoint list view the record.  Previously we'd just click on the attachment and the file would download or open.

Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous ,

It seems that it is a known issue.

When using the attachment control to download an attachment the click will have no response using Chrome 83 and Microsoft Edge 83. To work around use another browser. The team is actively working to fix this issue.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Your question is whether the attachment uploaded through Flow last time can't be opened now or the result of Flow running is not as expected now?

If it is the former, I think it has nothing to do with the configuration of Flow. Since this picture was uploaded through Flow before and can be opened normally, it means that there is no problem with the configuration of Flow.

Please check if any changes have been made to the SharePoint list.

If you think this is related to the configuration of Flow, please share the configuration of Flow so that we can check whether there are steps for improvement in the configuration of Flow.

In addition, you can try to click "Using data from previous runs" to re-run Flow, and then check whether the picture can be uploaded normally.

@v-bacao-msft Thank you for your help!  The flow does appear to be working as I've been watching the log and there's no error and the file can be found in the folder on the cloud.  When the user goes to the SharePoint list clicking on the attachment does nothing, it looks like the file is there but it won't open any longer.  Do you happen to know of any SharePoint forums where I can pose this question if it doesn't seem to be a flow issue?  Thanks!

I seem to have this same issue recently was always able to create nice flows that attach the SharePoint image. However recently this has changed the image can be opened from the SP list but when trying to open it from the e-mail I now get this error message. Was you able to find a fix for this?

Hey @Kmayes

Did you ever find a solution to this? We are having the same issue. It seems to be tied in with our upgrade from Office 2016 to office 365? It seems to be only happening with some items. For example, we use exactly the same flow for a different sharepoint site within our corporate environment, and it work on one but not the other?

Its really strange. Any assistance / advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

@jarrodopie

Yes I did manage to fix this it appears the way in which to attach attachments had slightly changed old flows that were set up still seemed to work the old way but now instead of writing an expression for the content you can place the dynamic content direct into the variable

I had the same issue.

The issue for me was the setting Base64() in my contentbytes.
To prevent the base64 from silently re-encoding (a second time, I learned that this happened from a super user II on a similar thread but can't find it) I used the compose action to convert the contents to a base64 format, then used the compose output as the contentBytes.

This section of my flow is designed to process multiple uploaded files in a MS Forms question.
The question is used in the parse json, then I use the 'name' from the parse json to get the file content for each uploaded file. the content is then converted to Base64. And finally appended to an array variable that I will use as the attachment array in 'send an email'.

Hopefully this assists anyone who still needs help on any of this.

Edit: It's also possible that It continues to fail due to multiple encodings with Base64, resulting in a non-binary outcome (not sure why yet, it seems to be consistent multiple with apply to each layers).
To fix this issue add an additional compose after the one shown and use the base64tobinary() function on the Base64 compose outputs.

e.g. @{Base64toBinary(outputs('Compose'))} where the compose input is @{Base64(output('get_file_content_using_path_3')[body/Content])}

Thank you for your comment it works for me.
